2000 Micra Si for spares or repair

Hiya all my first post on here. My beautiful car has recently failed her MOT- main issues being corrosion on the body structure- and for this reason it's now time to say goodbye.

I'm hopeful she can be used for parts, unless someone wants to attempt a repair job! Interior in very good condition.

Location Ilford, Essex. Collection only.

Will take some pics and post tomorrow but just wanted to get the ball rolling. Here is an older holiday pic! Throw questions at me- I hope I can answer! Thanks.

The paint always looks really nice on these for being ~20 years old

If you do sell it for parts I bet you'll get a fair bit for the body panels

I've been needing a front left quarter panel for a while now, ideally in red but I think even if I did get a red one it still wouldn't match unless it has the same amount of weathering so it'd probably still need painting over.

Mileage: 103,317

The main issue with the car is corrosion to the structure underneath, which I understand is common in old Micras, for example the Crossmember. You can see in a couple of the pics.

The car hasn't been washed but generally speaking comes up well with a polish, there are some rust bubbles and pitted bits here and there. A slight dent on the nearside rear 'door' panel. Wouldnt be a Micra without one lol.

There are some older and newer parts. The interior is pretty good I believe for it's age.

I hope the pics help. Happy to take more of specific parts if need be.

I'm not an expert on these matters so do let me know what else you want to know!!

Hi,

Would you be willing to sell me the tweeters please -(the tiny speakers in the a pillar)? I have been searching for some for so long!
The plastic trims aren't required.

Thanks,.

Hi there, sorry for the late reply, I'd prefer to sell the car as a whole, but if this fails I will be happy to consider selling parts, but it would have to be a collection job as I don't have the space, know-how and means to dismantle I'm afraid!! Let me know if you want me to keep you posted.

The sound in the car is really good, I even wonder whether the speakers on the parcel shelf have been modified or if that's just how they are.

Hi sorry I wouldn’t be able to collect, but thats fine, thanks for letting me know and so you don’t need to keep me updated.

Thanks.

Tbh could you put the reg up for mot checks and rough idea for a price how are the sills and floor , cause if just the crossmember it's £25 for a new one and a day's work , it looks a clean motor and well spec for a si ,
Wouldn't bother breaking it , you sell afew bits and left with a rolling shell and prat on specially with little space,

Hiya, I'm sorry for the late reply, I thought I was getting email notifications for all messages/ replies but it seems not! Thanks for your input.

Ok reg is W10 GMD.

I had to just look up what a sill is, visually seems ok but I haven't been under the car- I was told that the surface that props up the car jack is corroded/ing, I think this is described in the MOT report. Floor I think is ok but you may have to excuse my ignorance as I'm not well versed in this area!

I was pretty much hoping someone might want to buy for parts more than anything. I am really open to offers as have had such mixed quotes from srap yards.
