Ideas for k11 Alarm System or dash cam?

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for some sort of alarm system for a k11?
As the locks don't seem to be that jimmy proof on the micra, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a mobile type of alarm that would fit into the car, without too much hard wiring as the car is nearly eighteen years old now?

Or any ideas on a dash cam that can monitor as close to 360 degrees or all around if possible?

Many thanks for an ideas on this.

Second that .... also interested in an alarm / Immobilizer that's effective and easy to fit and stays effective for the duration.

I'm in the same boat .... our K11 has walked once, was recovered but was a shed load of work to fix up. The police say they are infamous for it.

Seems the MO is to twist the door lock with a screwdriver, same with ignition, spray black the interior windows, drive to nearest Shell station, fill up and tear it around until it's empty! That's what they did to ours .... quality human beings!

Dash Can wise take a look at this thread .... I took this recommendation from ighhh and it works a treat and was an absolute bargain. You can pay a huge amount of cash for some amazing systems but this one fits a treat, neat and effective and backs up to your smart phone. It's forward facing only but so far, more than effective. I was a bit dubious as it was so cheap but need not have been....

Brutal Honesty
Question - is it worth it? If someone wants to steal it. They will... and if they can't then they'll most likely trash it.

I think a member on here a few years back fitted a hidden switch to the fuel pump (or similar) to stop the engine running. May have even been @frank

Ouch :) .... yeah we been with this little baby a long time, would hate see it wander again. In fact on the drive it's under 3 cctv's as it goes so fingers crossed it doesn't wander but take your point. I think the immobilisers are relatively cheap ... has seen cat 2 ones under £50 which is pretty much the limit of my budget.

Yes a switch of some sort could be a nice answer. I don't need a cat 6 GPS tracker thing, just a simple delay/frustrate option. As you say, if someone determined then it's gone ... but to delay the opportunist would be good.

Amazingly when ours went walkabout, the Police saw it and chased down and caught those concerned the next day! It was a mess that lost a few days fix up but was still good get it back and have to say the boys in blue did a sterling job that day. Was a lady police officer who physical ran and chased them a mile until they drove it over a bridge that had a bollard at the end! What a girl!

We were lucky with ours, broken into and ready to hot wire when the scum were disturbed, our neighbours get up for work from 4am, 5am and myself at 6am, stupid really as I left the car outside the the 12 foot high driveway gates? our k11 is a popular target as it has no nats, police advised me to get a big solid visible chain for the steering wheel as the best deterrent, it has worked for the last 4 years though I do keep the car behind the gate overnight now and avoid the notorious car parks in town where theft is too common.

Yeah failing a budget immobiliser that could be a solid option... needs be something quick and easy it will get relegated to the boot or hall floor!!! :)

How did you fix that out of interest? Wheel to .... ???

Round the wheel and should fit round one of the seat mounts, I left mine under the seat so the awkward bit was always done, high vis helps the scum walk on by
