K12 1.2 turbo?

I am wondering wether to make a blog on my adventure I will be taking soon as I can't seem to find any other thread on it (unless I'm being blind) I am going to attempt to turbo charge my 2005 1.2 sport+ on the cheap just to see if it can be done, is there another thread on it or is it worth doing?

if you fit the oil return to the dipstick tube yes, the cr engines look like they have a knock sensor on the back of the block, and injectors fitted directly into the head, dunno how much boost the plastic inlet mani will hold tho ?

Going to stick with stock injectors for now till I find suitable upgrade so will only be running low boost <7psi and see I can find a aftermarket intake or make one myself, this is my daily runner to work so trying not to kill it ?

Any chance you could point me in the direction in the pressure sensor? Think it's the guy top middle but not 100%

Ok so ignore the shoddy welds and the sealant (this is only a prototype to see if it will run with this sort of setup) but it runs perfect, alot better than it did and also sounds alot more grunty, so hoping this setup will be able to hold a bit of boost ?

Hey Matthew, is this project still going r have you sold the car on? I am looking ofr a custom intake manifold like yours, was wondering if you could make one up for me please.

I have project HR16DE engine with small turbo. Now thinking how to solve ECM problem? Car needs all original equipment ie. NATS etc. I will try with original ECM but I think that it not allow than very low boost, under 0.3 bar.

Interesting, I will keep watch on this!
By any chance are you also Finn...?;)
I've been thinking to find out what versions with HR16DE engine have turbo by Nissan?;)
In US of A insurance companies will write off rear ended vehicles that are still driveable, donor vehicle...

Yes I'm, live in Kerava, Finland

Turbo is from Renault H4JT engine. Which is same block family than HR-engines. Infact via Wikipedia its Nissan code is HR14DET, but never have used in Nissan cars. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_HR_engine

Just wonder how much those original injectors can give fuel (16600-ED000)? Try find out from Google specs. but no any information.

This is low budget and low power project so maybe I just test original injectors and ECM in next summer. Turbo is used and intercooler is used, its from K13 HR12DR engine combination.

First start at Eastern. Original ECM and no any modifications on engine control. Engine run well what I little tested it. Just need minor repair: little oil leak from turbo line and intake manifold need also heat shield to backside. Also probably needs more fuel. First I try just change fuel pressure regulator from 3,5bar to 3,8bar. Let see how it helps situation.

So if that engine uses the same block am I right to assume this is essentially a bolt on manifold etc?

Well done!

Sent from my SM-F926B using Micra Spo

I assume same way. But no. Exhaust manifold bolt pattern is different H4Jt and HR16DE heads. Fortunally exhaust ports in head are same distance each other so only problem was make "adapters" for fasten. Also there was no turbo oil line inlet and outlet on HR16DE block. I use only exhaust manifold, turbo and air intake hose from H4Jt engine. After all, there was way more work than I assume,

First test drive street and high way. Engine works great! No any problem. Start cold and hot normally. No any DTC`s. Turbo beging work even under 2000rpm and reach quickly 0,3bar what I have set to waste gate limit rate. Now lot of low torque! Responce to little gas pedal pressing quickly. This is now complete different engine than HR16DE wich is high rpm engine. I Also test few time accerate 0-100km/h in cold tarmac: best time 7.7sec. Without turbo time was last summer 9.1sec.

Sorry poor video. Not much to see, my skill is not make videos. Also little difficult take video and drive high way ?

Little update (and correction previous one message; 0-100km/h time was 7,7sek).

Last weekend I tightened turbos waste gate open pressure. Now max. over boost pressure is 0,5bar. Turbo reach that 0,5bar in low rpm, even somewhere 3000rpm and up. But when rpm goes high, max boost pressure drops about to 0,4bar. My assume is that when waste gate opens at full throttle in high rpm, turbo loses its rotation energy and can not reach again max boost. I make some Google search about that turbo: Renault says its -low torque turbo- etc.. (I dont remember excatly words). So that explain why over boost drops at full throttle from mid range to high rpm.

Most special is that I still drive with stock ECM program and stock fuel injectors with stock fuel pressure. And still fuel/air ratio is correct at all situations. Excample in full throttle acceleration 4. and 5. gear Fuel mixture is -RICH- (I have only original lambda sensor) So engine gets enough fuel even 0,5bar over boost. How that can be possible?

When I get some one to make videos at next test drive, then I can give some material to you.

Test session is aborted ??

Little technical problem in drive train. Clutch start slip at low rpm with full torque. I make rechearh; aftermarket clutch disc are only 200mm OD when original is 215mm OD. Pressure plate etc are still excact same parts. I know for sure that clutch is replaced my drivetrain earlier (from maintenance book). Today I take transmission out of car and yes: there is only 200mm clutch disc. Pressure plate is 215mm OD. So now I try find 215mm clutch disc some where (with 26 splines). Aftermarket disc are just that 200mm and original Nissan part number is also changed so probably its also only 200mm at new part number (older part number can not any more order). Price is also so high original Nissan parts that is not option.

So turbo-Micra is in service now ?
