K11 1.3 GX Mod Advice?

Hi all. Bought a 1.3 manual (dizzy) just less than a year ago. Pokey little thing, love her...

Looking at many posts from here and elsewhere I want to ask about best Mods for:

Intake: Ram Air, cheap but worth it? or make one diy with 70mm piping? Or simply replace airbox with 1.6?

Throttle Body:
GA15 Bolt on worth doing or not? If so, what car can it be sourced from as searching GA15 TB doesn't show much...

Brakes: N15 1.6 Pulsar AD18V Calipers and Disks? (What car would they come off as Ad18v brings up little on a search.) Or are there alternatives?

Coilovers: Corsa B. Plug and play or a little moding? Rear shocks need shortening, is that right?
(And Giz Fab Pan hard rod to go with it.)

Any alternative suggestions would be great. First time modding!

I am late to the party, (and not a young 20 something anymore!) but I did buy her thinking of going into Autosolo's, Sprints and maybe Autotests so again, any suggestions on mods for that kinda use.

I've done a lot of research but always find some arguing against certain mods so wanted to get a clear idea of whats best to get a bit more power and better handling. Preferably without breaking the bank. :)

Many thanks, (sorry if it's a long post but wanted to cover a few things instead of starting several new threads at once) and I'm not looking to do it all at once but prob start with coilovers.

P.S. Alloys? 4x100 Great, but finding any with a big enough center bore is a pain. Any certain makes and models I should be looking at?

For alloys just go with brand stuff like OZ or Borbet or so and ask for a picture of the hub from the backside. Lots of the brand stuff use a hub centric ring to make them "universal". See the gif here: http://www.hubcentric-rings.com/how_to_install_hub_centric_rings/ The rings can also be made of metal and hard to spot but if you find some rims with them in you can take them out and replace them with fitting ones. Lots of people just measure the rims with the rings in making people thing they wouldnt fit.

I'd go for a Ga airbox, but that's personal preference. Make a custom air pipe, cut a stock Almera/Primera or just don't use one at all for induction noise.

Jap import N15 pulsars, just look it up on Wikipedia and you'll get the list of all cars using that engine.

You said yourself N15 1.6 brakes so there's your answer. Pre facelift 1.6 Almeras or facelift 1.4+1.6. Need two 1mm washers to space caliper carrier off hub.

Coilovers: Corsa B. Plug and play or a little moding? Rear shocks need shortening, is that right?

Plenty of info out there on the forums, search corsa coilovers site:micra.org.uk to search this site specifically. Corsa rear shocks can be used when lowering around the 50mm mark.

Thanks Liam.

Intake: I'll probably go diy with a cone, then I could change length or position if needed.

TB and Brakes: I thought I was on the right lines, pulsar calipers don't seem easy to find is all and I wondered if there were alternatives.

Coilovers: All good. Just wanted to check I don't miss any obvious mistakes before I get started with the mods.

Looks like the most gains on the CG13DE from what I can see is 4 branch, intake and cams?

Thinking to keep it sleeper. (Maybe a little more noisy than stock...) :)

Cheers.

Yeah cones are good. Battery relocation and cut the inner wing so the cone sits where the coolant expansion tank is with a cold air feed from the wing is the best I've seen. Alternatively do the same on the drivers side for shorter piping but sharper angle.

Throttle bodies are hard to come by even here in Ireland, where we have loads of random Jap imports. If I'd known about it, my friend banger raced a Jap n15 not too long ago but it's a cube now. You should find an Almera handy in scrapyards, they are at the same age of rust killing them off like micras, so have a look around. All facelifts have the 247mm discs if I remember rightly, bring a tape measure with you to make sure.

Breathing mods will get you the most on these engines for relatively cheap.
