Ebay MAFs any good?

Hi folks,
I was just wondering if anyone had got a MAF sensor from somewhere like ebay and was it any good? This sensor is off a 2001 bosch type throttle body that can't be soldered.
Does anyone know of a particular company/web site that has been supplied a reliable MAF sensor?
Many apologies about banging on about this maf thing, as I gather its been a well worn subject in here.;p
Many thanks for any advise / pointers given..

Hi, I have the same year. Bought a chinese MAF sensor off from eBay for around £6. But the chinese will be spare only as I used some carb cleaner on the old sensor and it is working again. No issues since but I haven't ran too many miles yet.
Visually there are not too much difference between the original and the chinese one.

Thanks for the reply Chr,
I think what you have done is a sound idea.
In my case, the car drives o.k. and the only noticeable things are the MIL engine light on and the idle sounds a bit iffy when I turn stuff like lights and heater on, the revs fall slightly as if, if it goes any lower then the engine might stall.
The diagnostic reader comes up with the p0171 (mix to lean)and also came up with the p0100 (mass airfow circuit) fault until I cleaned the old MAF and now the p100 fault has gone.
I think I will invest in a cheapy chines maf as you have done so not only I know thats the fault but to try and get that dog gone engine light to go out . The car might even idle a bit better when under heavy electrical load..lol
Cheers again for the input ..

o.k. cheeers chris,

The good news is I've cleaned my old maf and turned the engine light of doom out twice now and after 50 miles it seems to have stayed out! usually it will come back on at 40 miles.
If the engine light does come back on though I think I may have to invest off ebay in either a chines one or theses a company here that seems pukka..

Apparently, some lights of doom have been known to be switched off eight times before they stay off ! eek !
Fingers crossed hey..

Thanks to all that have helped or peeked out of interest..
