You may find it useful to renew the water cooling thermostat as these can become tardy. Range approximately 82° C. can be confirmed via Haynes workshop manual.

The K-12 is notorious for electrical gremlins including the IPDM intelligent power distribution printed circuit board, relays, fuses and electrical connections throughout.

The cooling fan has two modes of operation low speed and high speed operated by separate relays in the IPDM board and you need to check and test that this system is working correctly. The following (circuit diagram K12 Micra WDs – 1. pdf ) indicates the complexity and you may need an automotive electronics technician to troubleshoot and resolve the issues. Good luck.

Thank you for your reply, the fan is working fine at both speeds, my daughter went to york in it at the weekend and had to be recovered by the AA as it blew all the water out, we have had the cylinder head pressure testes and skimmed new head gasket fitted and we still have the same problem, so thats a new water pump, thermostat and temp sensor plus the head gasket, ive run the car today for the first time after having the head gasket done and we still have the same problem, the head was fitted by a mechanic from a local garage that i have known for years and is very reputable, the only thing thats not been changed now is the radiator, im at a wits end now any more help would be greatly received sa we have spent alot of money trying to rectify the problem

You had a recent car purchase valid claim against the supplier dealer as the vehicle was unfit for purpose.

Now you may have a valid legal claim against the repairer as extensive repairs appear to be unfit for purpose?

Negotiate with the traders and give them at least two attempts to fix the problems free of charge as that is your legal right in UK Consumer law. May I suggest that you may find it providential to familiarise yourself with your legal rights prior to negotiating in positive polite proactive manner to achieve the best cooperative response from the traders concerned.
