Finished it.
Just got to double check everything is torqued up and put my good set of steels on and we're all good. Still missing the turbo though

Today on my 2003 1.4 SE+ I decided to clean/remove the mould from my driver door rubber weather seal, after removing the rubber I found a bit of corrosion! :-( So I rubbed it down applied Hammerite Kurust and a coat of zinc primer and tomorrow will apply a top coat of paint! Just shows to what a accumulation of mould can do so I will be now checking all door seals! B-)

Finally on the road and Drove it to work drove like a bag of nails to work and occasionally nearly stalled when coming to a stop. In my head I was putting it down to the plugs not being changed since fitting the new engine, the fuel filter being the original from when the car was built or the universal eBay lambda I fitted. When I got to work I ordered the plugs and filter as I couldn't be bothered to get them before I was driving the thing. I also checked the voltage on the lambda which seemed fine thankfully. I then remembered on my old turbo how it played up similar when the maf went. So I sprayed some contact cleaner in there and it ran like a dream all the way home

Nice one - good information for the members there buddy....thanks.

Changed the plugs and fuel filter. Oh my days the plugs were just old plugs but the filter was completely blocked with crud (I cut it open and looked ) 2001 was a very very long time ago...my old prefacelift was the original too and nowhere near as bad. Maybe this one was ran empty quite a few times?

Finally got round to changing my locks and Ignition barrel after I snapped my key around a month ago! Will be good to be able to lock the car again :)

Gave it a good clean.
Including the underside ready for some floor pan welding
Noticed as well I've got the tabs for a rear anti roll bar on the body, just not on the axle. Also chasing a really annoying power drop at full throttle after around 50mph. My cheap universal lambda is dead already so I've got the secondary plugged into the first plug maybe that's it?

Cleaned mine too. ......I've only owned her 2 weeks and I've washed and polished her 5 times. ......I think that's a personal record :)

Even though she's fairly mint, I got annoyed by the dull rusty bits that were showing through the grill. ......so now she's toothless. Hopefully I'll get some dinitrol converter, paint and ACF 50 on her over the next few days. ....also, I was really happy with the condition of the front crossmember on closer inspection :)
