My old silver one had one of them, but it was a little 1l, had no front fogs fitted but had the switch for 'em, Funny what you find out.

As I am aware the 2002 1.4i Sport+ and SE+ were the only models to have the extra function on the stubby light stem to switch on the front fogs but I could be wrong? B-)

Yup Andy, walked into the yard, and there it was - first car in the line  someone had been there before me and had a few bits away, but there's still plenty to be had.
Going out next week and strip it bare if it's still there.....and no-one else gets at it.
Drooling to get at it again.

A long day.... Got a lot done though, ready for two events in less than 24hrs next weekend.

- Oil & filter change
- Full bolt check
- Increased front ride height and fitted forest spec springs to the rear
- Fitted new EBC Green pads, and bled the front calipers

Also found the OSR wheel bearing I changed last month, has already failed... Also found the cap on the other side almost popped off. I think the heat of the last event was too much for this.

Then when I thought I had finished, I ran up the engine to check the oil level and found the alternator I fitted back in April the bearings on this have failed. It was making an awful noise... So I got the spare out and fitted this, and all is ok now.

I think these pattern or non-OEM parts are causing the issue. I have a pair of used but good ABS rear wheel bearing, so I will try them instead of a new pattern bearing.

Did some more cleaning and restoration on the SR today and had a visitor come to say hello to my girls a K13 ESSENZA C+C lol!

Finally got round to upgrading the radiator on the turbo K11. It's now running an uprated alloy Toyota Starlet radiator with twin Revotec fans.

I also got around to sorting out the annoying fan issue I've been experiencing. The fans have always seem willing to come on but a lot less willing to turn off since obtaining the car. On the way to JAE this became apparent and for a lot of the journey they wouldn't turn off.

Datalogging showed the car was holding an apparent 91-92C at idle and on cruise and wouldn't drop below these values. Fan thresholds were on at 95C and off at 90C.

I smelled a rat and decided to check the coolant temperature sensor calibration this weekend. Hunch was correct as it was MILES out!

I don't remember all the calibration values but the initial calibration numbers (those which matter) which Omex give you for a default sensor are:

Coolant Raw 0 - 115C
Coolant Raw 8 - 99C
Coolant Raw 16 - 89C
Coolant Raw 24 - 78C

The calibrated values were:

Coolant Raw 8 - 99C
Coolant Raw 16 - 74C
Coolant Raw 24 - 63C

So when the ECU was seeing 92C, the coolant in fact was only at ~84C. With the new sensor calibration the car was run up to operating temperature with a secondary thermal probe located at the radiator inlet. Temps were within 1-2C of eachother, which was good enough to support the test with fans cycling in and out as expected.

A new sensor will be ordered, as this one's not trustworthy and is likely working towards total failure. Just goes to show that sensors are not 'fit and forget'. Never had an issue with OEM Nissan stuff but this is the 2nd Omex CTS to goose out on me in recent years.

Looks good, which polo splitter did you use? where did you get the headlights I like the lines and Nissan branding.

Very slow in spotting this!
Thanks for the compliment, the headlights are standard but have Nissan option perspex protectors fitted.
Splitter is from a '6n' polo I think, mid late 90's type. Not off a gti or anything, just a standard.. Easy fit using some original moutings, some self tappers and about 2in cut each end.

Been busy with work so not got much done on either cars. Bit disappointed with Andy @h701micra, as after paying for coilover suspension to the tune of £314 I've realised he's just ripped me off. Thought ppl on here were all about helping out. Lesson learnt I suppose. So just be aware ppl when buying stuff from other forum members if it's a lot of money.

I paid for a set of coilovers from him in March which were supposed to take up to 8 weeks to arrive. Well nothing's arrived, he doesn't get back to emails and when he did, he just used to say they'll be a couple of weeks. That's it in a nutshell. So that's why I'm disappointed. I've never had any issues with sales/purchases on here or any other forums before as usually car nuts are really helpful.

Well it was yesterday but having passed its MOT with flying colours " its a compliment to its owner" I was told, the lowering has begun.
Matiz rears easy fit to stock struts up front and once I've repainted the rear spring seats to prevent rust it'll be on alto rears with kyb corsa b shocks.

Also painted the front towing point white.

Many people have had similar experiences. He's done good work for me before (engine swap and internal brake pipes etc) but I had issues with his coilovers on the k10, took ages to get ready and then didn't fit properly.

Keep pestering and he should refund, otherwise ccj is the only way if you want to see the money again

Yes I agree. I heard of the good work he has/had done for ppl that's why I went with him. Shame really that there are ppl out there like that. Spoils it for the good ones.

Still not arrived as of today (?)

No Dave nothing at all. He just kept saying a couple of weeks. And that was if I could ever get in touch. Hey ho.
MMmmmm!!!! I tried to contact him a long while back for coilovers and never had a reply either.
It is his business, so i would think he would honour the sale - but that is a long wait - to long.
Have you tried going through his business page on here (?)
Or maybe the moderators have a contact number they could PM you (?)

Apparently he's not doing the brightsparkracing thing anymore it said in his website. It's all in hand at the moment though Dave.

Bought a good old fashioned buzz box welder! And a new grinder/disc cutter as my old one is a 110v which I have to set the transformer up every time...
Been getting some training in welding at work in my new job and am getting pretty handy with an arc.

I am after a battery clamp ie: the 2 upright bars with butterfly nuts and the cross bar, also what type of rear light clusters you got Mste?

Today after alot of twiddling and investigation managed to get my SR horns working. Having replaced the horn relay and reused 2 old horns the damn thing still wouldn't work so I removed the steering wheel air bag to check the horn switch and connectors and re-routed the cables etc. I then tried the horns and they worked well but would not switch off so I pulled the earth's. Checked the horn relay and it was really hot, traced the cables form the the relay plug and found a red/black cable had been snap connected to it?? I traced this cable and it was routed behind the centre console by the stereo, I removed it from the horn cable and the horns worked! I check everything including the stereo and all worked, so do not know what the red/black cable did if anything lol!B-)

Bought a £10 Rolson Dent Kit from TKMAXX as I have some farty little dents on the Car that are getting on my proverbials. Didn't work too well but on the plus side I now have a Glue Gun and was able to stick down a piece of Footwell Carpet that was coming up.

Wondered why my bonnet was getting harder to close, found a nice pre face fresh in the scrapyard and fixed it and then found a new use for the c-spanner from the motorbike suspension adjuster... Was about to use brute force and ignorance to open the very seized power steering reservoir when I thought c-spanner
