Read fault codes Micra Dig-s

Hi!

I have a Micra Dig-s K13, that is 5 years old now. Recently, the yellow Engine lamp was lit up. The Auto lamp also starts to flash after a while.

The car runs, but very poorly, it looses almost all power.

Is there a way the read the fault codes on this car without any diagnostics tool?

I suspect that the lambda sensor/s is the problem?

Cheers!

Don't think so, you need to put it on a computer. Mine went through a little phase of having no power, the supercharger wasn't coming in. I disconnected the battery for 10 mins and it's been fine since. May be worth a try?

Ok. I disconnected the battery a couple of minutes, and after that it was working fine for a couple of days. But yesterday the problem came back... Do you think I need to disconnect the battery a bit longer than a couple of minutes?

You can try it, but I would suggest getting it read on a computer and try to clear the fault code. Then see if it comes back again

Borrowed a fault code reader today. The code is : P0011 "A camshaft position timing overadvanced or System performance bank 1.

Camshaft/valve problems?

Just saw a video of how to replace a camshaft sensor. That could be the problem with my car! Anyone who knows where the sensor is placed in a Dig-S 2011?

my guess would be this one

Think that would be my guess aswell. Best thing to do would be to look at that sensor on your car, take any numbers off it and find out if those come up as cam sensor.

Ok. Do you know where this part is placed on the engine? Tried to change the camshaft sensor, but I was sent the wrong model, didn´t fit...
After reading more, it seems more likely to be the camshaft solenid.

Yes its located on the left side of the engine under the air box at the back of the engine. On the front is the exhaust solenoid. A new solenoid cost me 600 which apparently can.only get from nissan

Hi.
Had the same issue in 2017 with my Dig-s only done 12000 miles at the time and full nissan service history.
Had exactly the same symptoms MIL light on codes in ECU and no power as cam phase is out.
The dealer changed the inlet cam hydraulic control solenoid this part was £400 plus labour. Apparently its super common to fail and they keep them in stock.
They changed the oil as well thankfully it was all extended warranty who payed.

With diagnosis the bill was £760.

Glad your engine is running fine since oil change.
