Who insures March Cabriolet K11?

Fed up being told by insurers that they don't cover imports. Can anyone recommend an insurance company, please? Chris
Hi Christine and welcome to the forum from a fellow March Cabriolet owner! B-) I did not have any problems insuring my Cabriolet, I paid £185 for fully comprehensive cover mind you I live in the Channel Islands! :) Which insurance companies have you tried and what spec is your Cabriolet? :)

Your joking, I had one and insured it through the AA
They don't have them on their data bases is probably more like it.
And welcome to the forum Christine.

Thanks, Andy. Can't wait to get the car on the road but insureres using comparison websites would only accept Micra GX or SLX automatic models and did not recognise a March auto. Another member recommended Elephant (aka Admiral) which are making enquiries and ringing me later with a quote. The car is a 1275 cc Japanese import in a bright shiny red with black roof (that sounds very girly!)

I think you'll do well with Elephant - They've always been brilliant with me.
Failing that, try Sky insurance? Or possibly even *shudders* Adrian Flux if you're reaaallly struggling.
By the way, your car is absolutely stunning! Love them in that colour.
And also, welcome to the forum! :D

Don't know the history. We bought it last October from a local garage owner who had stored it for two years. He likes Micras and wanted this for himself but didn't have time to put it on the road. The engine was sound but needed cosmetic work including a new roof. I'm sending a picture of the roof as we bought it. It's

We were lucky to have a local coach trimmer who provided a new hood and also made an invisible repair to the passenger seat which had a cigarette burn. I swear he replaced the seat because I've tried to find the repair and I just can't! The only thing missing is the Cabriolet transfer from the boot. Regards, Christine

Hi Christine please keep us updated with pics if poss and please feel free to ask if you need any info or help. Us fellow Cabriolet owners are a very small community and like to help each other we do have our own Facebook group "The March Cabriolet Club" and it would be great if you had a look and maybe joined?
Regards
Andy :)

did they fit the glass window to the new roof?, do you want me to get you the cabriolet sticker for the boot? what was your insurance quote with Elephant?

Unfortunately it was not possible to re-fit the glass window because there was no way to sew it into the new hood and the fitter was not happy for it to be glued in. It was kind of you to offer to source a cabriolet sticker - I'll take you up on that. Insurance was £331 (I had no NCD because this is a second car).

Hi Christine sorry to hear the your fitter did not fit the class window, I sourced and bought the correct 3m adhesive from the USA and my friend who is a really good upholsterer and specialises in Cab roofs is replacing the rear section of the roof and is happy to reattach/glue the glass window back in. I am also sourcing a rubber/alloy surround to frame (same as more modern Cabs) the outside edge to add to the integrity of the replacement mohair panel! Please could you post some more pics of your lovely Cab? :)
