Starting a blog for my 1996 Nissan March G#. The March everyone seems to have owned.... I loved this car from the first time I saw it at JapFest 2013 and have wanted it since.
I'm sure most of you know the car by now. I've managed to find a list of past owners on this forum;
mckenziecz
thenapster
_likeaboss_
SuluR
SK193
Tom_89
Sammyboi

And now... MaxK11C :D

Real updates soon I hope. Just about to order some MSC stickers for it and then going to bed. It's currently 12:41 and I start work at 7am tomorrow, just had a six hour round trip to pick it up!

Looks awesome Max!! Last i heard of this March, the then current owner was thinking of stripping it for parts as it was missing a lot of it's interior?

Glad you got it though! Looking forward to the updates haha :)

I wish more cars stayed in the club.

My feelings exactly. I love a car with history.

Thanks ben, it seems complete to me. The dash and dashpod have been flocked, but aside from that its pretty standard in there.

So the rear wheel drive mutterings were just a clever smoke screen

Will be interesting to see this in the flesh at some point.

Looking forward to the updates Max :)

Oh no, that's still happening. Just this came up at time I was looking for a new car.
Hopefully see you at the meet on the 28th? Sadly this won't be ready till the 30th unless I can work some magic with my insurance company....

I'll have to see, as I'm busy house hunting at the minute and that takes priority over everything else...

Ew responsibilities!
Good luck with that anyway. I'm sure you'd rather be freezing your nuts off in a car park talking micra though.

She's on the road! :)
Drives lovely for the most part, few small issues that need addressing. Squeaky belt on start up, and on full right lock.. May be left as well but I didn't notice.
Takes a while to warm up, but sits at a nice temp when its up there.
Rather difficult to get into the lower gears, especially when changing down. May be due to the fact its a manual conversion, used to be auto, or the GTIR short shifter. But if anyone with experience of either could shed some light that would be great.
Kangaroos a little when coming off the accelerator, isn't nice at low speeds.

I'll begin to have a look at these issues at the weekend, but nothing springs to mind for any of them of what could be causing them. Any input appreciated.

The lovely SirChris had a tinker today, seems to be running a lot smoother, and has no issues starting now. :)

Squeaky water & PAS pump belt could be loose tension, belt grooves worn too deep, belt glazed or contaminated, worn tensioner bearing.

Long warmup, always keep heater temp dial fully cold when cold starting so engine heats up asap. Check thermostat fully closed below 82c. No air gaps.

Notchy difficult 1st/2nd gear and rattling 5th could be worn loose gear selector bushes.

Hard selection could sometimes be worn synchros or wrong oil viscos.

Grinding reverse when stationary could be clutch not fully disengaging.

Manual clutch pedal box requires a 10mm bulkhead spacer to provide enough cable travel. If person who converted auto to manual forgot the spacer, the clutch won't fully release n damage the gearbox, or the clutch will slip, or stick on n ruin the release bearing.

Kangaroo could be worn TPS, worn soft rear engine mounts, sticky dirty injectors.

If you need a spacer for the clutch cable, Ford  Centre nut washers, the captive type ones work brilliantly, Got 3 on the outer cable side of the gearbox cable mount thing, it was either that or get a new cable

Come to Japshow?
Naeh.
Come to JapFest!
JapFest prep started today with me attemping to knock the dent out of the rear quarter, more on that later.
Started to give it a deep clean too, assessing the condition of the paint work.

Well what a busy weekend!
First went to a local meet on Saturday, photos on the WDYDTYM thread. Then I put my other wheels on and took it to a huge meet at Farnborough.
I love this car so much.

Went drag racing yesterday!
18.8 consistently, but with my R/T's getting better each run ending on 0.552 which I was very happy with.
Car should be going quicker than that, so @Antony advanced the timing for me, but I ran out of runs. Car felt better on the street though.
Cars clicked over 175k's, none of them easy, Maybe new engine come summer?

Gave the car a very well needed wash after yesterday using the toys I bought at Santa Pod yesterday.

I bought a 1.5L Mesto Foamer and a bottle of CLB Candy Fluff snow foam, and a big blue drying towel.
I would definetly reccomend these products, although I got them cheaper at the event they're still not expensive, and make the car look great. (Note, in the last picture there is no other product on the car, just the snowfoam)
Here are some I've found on the internet.
The foamer (identical to mine)

And some decent snow foam (I can't find the one I have)
