no-one seems to be "souping up" their micra,s on here lately micheal, you,re probably best to buy a 1.3 and diy :)

Or stick a GA16 and bigger brakes on the front and run around annoying the local modified cars in a stock looking micra ;)

if i bought a 1300 micra is there anyone willing to put a turbo kit on for me ? and a rough price guide if there is as beyond my knowledge
i,ve sold about 6 manifold/turbo combo,s in the past (£150ish) there might be one knocking around ? then you will need some 300cc injectors and a nistuned ecu ideally.
and if you keep the power at 130 ish, you can get away with the stock engine/box/fuelpump/throttlebody/clutch/sparkplugs etc

Clutch and plugs are advisable

as are super-unleaded and an intercooler, but i,ve been running 8psi during this recent heatwave without all 4 so far (fingers crossed :) )
I have been experiencing backfiring and looking at spark plugs slight silvery goodness.. Det. Ever so slightly. You need to remember I think that others would not be as friendly to their cars as you may do. Cough... Me.. Cough. Have no respect for engines lol.

Also @frank you are going to have a very very safe map as its a well though out base.
not sure what you mean chris :) but thats what i was on about with the "safe map" and "power map", i could probably have the car tuned on a dyno and gain 10hp or more, because Ed will have loaded a conservative basemap.
but i prefer to run with that safety margin personally (like the stock 133hp @ 9+psi glanza map has)

Sorry as per usual my English is ****e I was saying ur map is a safe map. Basically a conservative base map as to not blow anything up. Which might give you that le way to no require other safety measures?

aye :) stani altered his maps and got a very creditable 14.3 sec 1/4 mile iirc (which equates to about 180hp !) but it detted a piston in the process tho eh

Well see that's great.. But there's the problem he changed the map himself and broke it lol. I wonder what we would get with a metal head gasket and correct mapping...

his gaskets were fine, its the chocolate pistons that are our weakest link, stronger pistons will get a pitted surface like this corsa one i cooked/detted at mallory, but our stock ringlands let go long before the crown starts to suffer from pitting

He lowered comp with two gaskets iirc. Set blew my ringlands. Still no one has pushed a stock internal CG it seems. Dammit. I need to get this new turbo get a metal hg and just do it.. I shall prove how much we can bloody get. Damn you frank and your indirectly pushing me to this.

Jo and John Whitmore from the good old days pushed the standard CG13 engine fairly hard. They were running around 1bar boost on a 2mm metal gasket from Kappatsu when they were still around. They had a MD84 series T25 turbo from an R5 on there with a 0.48A/R turbine housing and were making around 180bhp. It was reputed to make 200bhp+ but it never saw a dyno and so was never officially recorded.

The car's still about and on the road. Not sure if it's been upgraded since then but Jo and John haven't been on here for at least a decade, so there's no recent info kicking about.

Damn that'd be about right, as iirc they were finishing off the build just about when i first found the forum.

172ps @ 1bar boost on a IHI RHB5 turbo, 1.75mm metal headgasket, everything else stock, could have more power but i prefer to have a reliable engine.

Nice! Good to see you back on here :)

Quite a difference in <4000rpm torque there beetween runs and an odd blip at 4100rpm. What's happening?

Great figures mate nice to see some good power. Yeah odd spike. Possible map issue causing overfuelling? Or odd retard?

Thanks ;)
Dont know why that happens, tried changing some parts of the maps but still the same, i'm not an expert regarding ecu remap but i try my best. And i refuse to pay someone to do it, it's my project... :p

And the lower power/torque figures below 4.000rpm can be because of different wheel size, 185/55R14 on the first dyno, 195/45R15 on the last one.
