3mm & them a 5mm version mate think Pollyp's may have been 8mm... For a TB thermal gasket I'd go as thick as u can get even maybe stack a few together

used 6mm cos it was the best bang/buck from ebay

how its made

the spacer reduced the manifold temp alot on trackdays from feeling 'hot home radiator' to 'luke warm'

plus disconnect the TB coolant lines and remove the waxstat mechanism.

after this mod, trying to insulate the tb from the manifold won't affect inlet temps much (other than lengthen the route) imo cos there won't be much heat in the manifold to begin with that will transfer onto & affect the TB
(heat from the block via the teflon spacer is less than the cooling affect of the cool air flowing through the manifold walls)

Thanks - ordered some up on fleabay, just waiting for it and the ne GA15 TB to arrive now.

Also got some new NISMO stickers today - which will obviously add at least 5bhp per sticker..... and i have six of them ;)

WDIDT?...played the MPG game all the way into town...had it sitting at 99.9 for more than 10 minutes!...the second I park up, switch off the engine and get the camera function on my phone...it dropped LOL
MPGgame_zpse6b35634.jpg

still...87 ain't half bad eh? :p

^ROTFL XD

well...the road I went on was a 40mph and slightly down hill...all the way...for 15 minutes
...in 5th gear...easing off when the people in front slowed down...no actual braking if I could help it
edging up the gears without revving higher than 2,000rpm...so I'm cruising at 1,500 RPM, where possible...
slowing down early for junctions so I don't have to stop suddenly...
pulling away gently...

...'tis a sad life I lead LOL

on the way back, however, mostly back up the hil <_<
my MPG was sitting at 74.2 when I got home...which is still better than the 61.3 when I left the house :p

Them 05 matiz rears stay captive frank?
barely aj, there,s about -5mm of preload with these modded stock shocks (the corsa shocks should hold them tight tho)
the springs have settled another 10 or 15mm now, i,ll have to refit the rubber seats if they drop any more :)

Got my corsa coilovers today :) I think i'm going to need to remove the helpers though, as there's not enough thread otherwise for the washers & top mounts to fit on top

Wdid? Did one job and, is so often the case, made another :(
Went from this.............

Sadly it would seem that the bootlid has been painted in the past with the handle in place so it means I have some work to do to tidy it up now

made a bad boy bonnet out of electrical tape. Not sure how I feel about the look, if I don't like it after a couple of days will just peel it off

After a long consideration and hard thought, I decided to repair my R reg. 1.3 GX. I spoken to a local scrapyard and was quoted £90 for: Front bumper, Bonnet, Radiator + slum panel, Front cross member and passenger side caliper & headlight.

I thought it is worth it. Today I removed the broken bumper, headlight (the working one) and ratchet handle broke and the my 12V drill/driver did not have enough power! I continue when I get some tools probably from my next door neighbor.

I can not post the pictures. I will make a video and put on YouTube and ask for your expertise and advise on how to move forward.

Regards

WDIDT?
Drove my mum down into town...to rescue my brother, whose "vunderful" Audi appears to have died...*Facepalm*
she called the RAC...and....sounds like either...timing, fuel pump/vacuum or possibly head gasket...very conclusive huh? LOL

...reminded me of the time I drove my mum, again in my trusty K12, right out to the back end of Southampton to rescue him in the Snow (2010)
...when his BMW 5 series auto died... (seriously dead radiator issue)

I'm starting to see a trend here ^_^

...the only time any of my Micra's has broken down was the day after I got my K10 back in 2005
...some bleedin wazuk nicked my petrol (and tank plug)...only had £6 worth in it
they also cut the fuel lines on my neighbours old diesel Astra estate, before realising it was diesel
...and just let it drain everywhere <_<... bar stewards...
still...I managed to drive about 5 miles on fumes ^_^

Gosh...those were the days :p

Lots on the rally car, did a full bolt check all find apart from rear arb mounting bolt which were loose (!?)

Cleaned lots of mud out of the arches and painted them gloss black, found the pulling issue, which was a knackered offside front arb link rubber, luckily i had similar sized rubber bush which i could replace it with, fixed one bit of brake cooling ducitng, but found the other side was missing! Messed around trying to sort the tracking gave up in the rain and went to a local place and got it sorted. Then went out and tested the new A048R's in the wet, where they were very good considering how wet it is out. Then removed yet more bit of trim, removing 450grams taking it over the 20kgs removed now :)

Changed the sound system.
New shelf speakers (speaker shelf from scrapers), beautiful of Nissan to ready wire the car!
New (to car) Alpine door speakers, one old speaker was not working, dreading tracing a break in the cable, but new speaker worked straight away!
New head unit (thanks to your advice knew that the aerial was the earth), used the existing brackets , is ok, but need a larger screw to secure it, as it is tilted a bit.
Sound 1,000% better! :D

Since I can not post pictures of the car here is the video. As you can see the front side is smashed.
?
What shall I do with the cross member? What about the area surrounding the broken headlight? is part of the cross member or what?

Regards

Edit:

After posting the video, I have removed the broken headlight and bar supporting the bumper. Couple of bang with hammer, and some pull and whack, the top of radiator panel, around the headlight and the bar connecting the bonnet lock mechanism looks a bit in shape.

Now the question is Do I need to replace the area around the headlights? or is it okay with couple of pull?

Regards

Put the battery on charge. Sadly not much else, barely even looked at it let alone drive it. Contemplating its future at the moment
