Custom center console

I've also been thinking about going back to the steelies but get them banned to about 8j or something, similar deep dish to what I've got, coz I like the poke :p what ya think?? But not sure if it will affect my camber idea though, got to make sure there's enough room between the wheel and suspension. Will think about this after the camber design.

Stupid snow...

What do people think? Just messing with the idea at the moment (not fantastic at photoshop)

Or Bottom half of car/door frame/fuel cap?

Been thinking about having a sticker bomb sunvisor but the company wont get back to me and they only do it in colour, so getting an idea on photoshop. Thought it would match a bit more if I did the fuel cap. What do you think?

From oil-can stickers
Edit: also thinking about sticker bombing the bottom part of the front bumper

Sorry about the bad photoshopped grill, was trying to make it look up-to-date as this is an old picture

Mate, that looks incredible IMO. If it was me personally I wouldn't do a sun-strip or flap, just the bottom half in B&W. Either way, looks sick! :D

Cheers dude. Yeah I'm not sure about the flap, was just an idea... but the sun strip I think will be a good idea, as I've always got the sun visor down anyway and it annoys me when the sun is in between both visors and the mirror, where the sun-strip will fix that problem :p

Just some updates of what I've done today...
The snow killed my decals on the rear window and was pissing me off so I've removed the stupid ones

Cars looking great! That drift charm is awesome, how did you make it?

Just realised I have the same floor mats as you have in this, in my K11 :D

You should keep a lookout for a k10 near you for spares and wrap your custom centre console in the carpet material so it looks more OEM-ey (if there's a piece big enough to cover it from a K10 carpet). Also have you got a proper parcel shelf in the back and wrapped it, or is that something you've knocked up yourself?

Haha good eye! ;)
I'm changing the center console soon to something better but it wont look stock at all, whereas the one I have now kinda looks stock (best I could do it at the time)
And for the parcel shelf, I didn't want to cut up the stock one, so I made one, but its starting to sag in the middle (can see in pictures) think I need to make a new one :p

Just to keep you update... testing part of my new center console idea that will be made out of fiber glass this time, them smoothed and finally wrapped in sticker bomb vinyl, not completely correct sizes atm but you get an idea.

Under the drinks holder there are going to be a couple of green or red LED rocker switches fitted for lights and and other bits an bobs
20130310214432.jpg

20130310222710.jpg

New speaker surroundings that will be raised from center console leaving a very small gap with some green or red LED fitted to give a glow, should look pretty good at night.
20130310222720.jpg

Driver side speaker surrounding is reversed to passenger side. Also have a new stainless steel gear stick surrounding with mirror finish on center ring. Will attach a suede gear gaiter with red stitching. Should look awesome.

What centre console? All I saw was fosters and greggs sausage rolls, 2 of my favourite things :D Looking good mate ;)

You not like rice krispies ?

Fibreglass may be the way to go, but you could probably get the whole piece laser cut and bend it correct specs...guess it depends how you're going about it :)

Where could I get that done then? I was going to make a mold myself and then fiber glass it up and see how it turns out :p
And come on rice krispies are the best!!! :p

Depends how good you are with software i guess, free cad software will let you design it and print it out to test fit and so long as it lets you export to the same format as a machine shop uses you're good to go. Any machine shop with a laser cutter or similar should take your money and it shouldn't be that much.

I've used this companies software before for 2d parts : http://www.emachineshop.com/ (there's probably plenty of other software though)

You'd just have to make notes of the angles you need...either for them to assemble or for your info later on.

A mold and fibreglass will deffo work though... :)

Hmmm looks pretty good... will check it out. Im not bad at CAD programs as I use a lot on my Uni course. Never really thought of making it this way. Will look into it more and if I go ahead I will let you know :D but thanks for pointing it out.
The gf works with fibre glass molds all the time, only reason I was going to do it that way :p

No probs...just another possible route. :)

As your gf knows the fibreglass mold side of things maybe be quicker that way...as you'll probably have some access to bits and pieces.

Hopefully i've not put you in circles lol.

Well I will have a look at the new way you told me about and see what will be easier. Long as that company isn't to expensive, could save me a lot of time and possible be better quality

Been thinking of replacing my wheel nuts with something that looks a lot more pleasing.
What do people think of... and it has locking wheel nuts to match :) unlike what I have now :(
wheelnuts.jpg

Link of product if anyone wants to know what it is:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290860481092?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619
Be very careful when buying wheel nuts like that mate, there are lots of cheap copies about, best bet is not to buy from ebay. I had a mate who bought aload of wheel bolts like that and they sheered off. We got all the torque correct they were just **** quality.

Someone told me D1 spec are crap, soft metals, rust quickly, etc.
I've seen some nice ones from other manufactures but they cost something like £200 which to me is a lot for wheel nuts.
I was researching about the R40's and people said they was good unless your car is for track day where you need to take the wheels off a lot, but for day to day use it would last along time. But they lasted the longest so people say.
Also another reason I was looking at the R40's is that they come with matching locking nuts and that's one thing I'm after.
I like the long style lug nuts but not sure if a special tool is required that comes with the kit to take it off or if anyone could come along and pinch my wheels.
Found one which looks like it may be Titanium, but not sure.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12x1-25-W...Wheels_tyres_Trim_Nuts_ET&hash=item3a7b60e3b9
and another which is Steel, from the same seller,
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12x1-25-W...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a7b4aa0fd.
I know some people don't like or trust ebay, but I can't say I've ever had a problem with anything from ebay long as its a trusted seller and their rating is 95% and higher
