Wheel Wobble Troubles

Need some advice on my alloys I bought! (Check my blog yo)

One of them, I thought, was buckled, but apparently it isn't but there is still a wobble, Shown in the video!
It is a bad quality video but you can see the wobble near the end!

Also one day when one of my friends were driving beside me they said my left hand wheel had a real bad wobble so I pulled over at a petrol station and I discovered that the nuts were loosening up themselves while driving with the alloys on, I mean I could loosen and tighten with just my hand with ease and when I fitted them beforehand I gave them a right good tighten! haha so would longer wheel nuts solve that?? because it was really difficult to actually put on the original nuts in the first place with the insert holes on the alloys being so deep!

AAAAANNNDDDDD

There was also a horrible rubbing/scraping noise when I was breaking, which I thought was the brake pads that needed replaced but as soon as I put my steelies back on it ran smooth as, with no noise :s

I might be speaking a load of p*sh here but I may aswell ask to see if any of you may have encounter the same problem or know how to solve it because I really don't want to sell on the little beauts especially if I know if I just put enough effort into it I could get them fitting properly and safely :( haha

Yep def looks buckled or something. These wheels been in a prang or anything?

Is it just the one? Does that wheel do it on the passenger side or rear? Do any of the others act like that fitted to the drivers side?

That's exactly what I thought but when I took it to a place about it they put it on the machine and it spun fine with no wobble  haha and as far as I'm aware they haven't

That is just the one on the rear, at first I thought it was the just the way it sat on the hub but I fitted a different wheel onto the same place and it ran fine and thats when I discovered it was the wheel because it done the exact some on the other side of the rear! the one fitted to the driver side was absolutely fine when I spun by hand and for the first couple of days driving with it then it just got a really bad wobble (probably caused by the nuts loosening themselves!)

Are the centre bores the right size mine did that had to make bores a little bigger

Quite possibly actually! I thought they were fine but I'll measure up the centre of the alloys when I finish work, if the sizes are different would I need to get spigot rings yeah? :)

A real good tighten... if you over tightened the nuts they will very quickly work there way loose.

ah okay, I didnt know that! I just tighten enough soo that I knew (or I thought I knew) that the nuts wouldn't come loose! would longer wheel nuts help though? I mean you can see how deep the the inserts are for the nuts in the video! haha
sounds to me like the centrebores are catching on the front, does it wobble when fitted to the rear ?

Wobble on the rear when I'm driving? I couldnt tell you because I was driving with the two steelies on the back and the alloys on the front because I wasn't going to keep the wheel from the video on the rear, so I just kept that one and the other one off

other way i would have though the center bore being to small you may have to make the hole a tiny bit bigger

If the centre bores are too small, then wouldn't all 4 wobble?

the fronts catch more if the bore is tapered iirc

Well if all the other 3 fit fine with no wobble then I don't know if it is the center bore :O would longer wheel nuts by any chance fix the nuts loosening themselves?

if you tighten the front nuts equally then it wont wobble (but the nuts will work loose as the taper inside the bore wears down) but if you tighten them unequal then you get a wobble.
you should,nt really be driving it if they are,nt seating properly !

I'm not driving with them on, no chance! haha for a little while I was driving with the two alloys on the front and the two steelies on the back because the front two went on fine with no wobble and were tightened equally (or I thought they were) but when i found out they were wobbling when I was actually driving I took them straight off and went back to all 4 steelies, wasn't for keeping them on after that haha :p any idea what would cause the rubbing/scraping noise when I brake though?

sounds like the same cause mate, not seating properly on the face, which means the disc is,nt being held captive

fair enough, is there anything that'll solve that? I mean my Uncle had a look at it who is a mechanic and he just told me I'm better off just to sell them on! haha
