I'm using a 2010 laptop with windows 7 and just the ordinary internet explorer!

I've had no problems so I'd assume it's your computer. I think a rule of thumb is that if the error appears on the site, like a numbered error or something then it's probably site based, if the error is locally displayed, maybe similar to something you've seen on another site, it's more likely local. However I'd definitely switch to Chrome or Safari regardless, as they're based on an engine called WebKit, which puts shoddy old Internet Explorer to shame!

Cool Cheers mate... the posting stuff bit often comes up as 'ERROR: Invalid Message'

That sounds more site-related actually. Although I can't recall having that problem.

Maybe James could have a prod around and look, maybe something session-related? That's just guesswork, the extent of my knowledge of web stuff is just design, and the teeny tiniest bit of PHP.

on my ipod touch safari when replying, while typing any long sentence it tends to freeze the screen till i zoom in/out and it refreshes. but when i press post reply safari simply freezes.
its responds ok if i'm only replying with a very short 1-3 word sentences

My iPhone 3G is like that with pretty much everything, but it's jailbroken and modded to hell so it literally runs as slow and glitchy as you could possibly imagine. Will often take me about four attempts to launch an app, and can write a sentence out and then spend a minute watching it slowly pop up letter by letter. Depending on which iPod Touch you have it could be that the forum's code is a little too much for the mobile browser as the site is obviously optimised for desktop usage (and there's an app for iOS, so there's no real need for a mobile version of the site), hence a little bit of lag.

aye. tis a 4th gen ipod touch on ios 5.1.1
browses the site threads fine, chat doesn't fit, but its when i try to reply where it fails. but i use my desktop pc for that anyway so not a worry
