urgent, help - engine

okay so i put new
points
ht leads
dizzy cap
rotor arm
spark plugs
oil (which i let get way too low!)

now my engine is buggered sounds like an absolute bag of spanners when on the move but under idle it is spot on, can only guess its transmission or carb related,
so now the choice has come, try and fix it or worse off new replacement engine.

or a new 16v engine of some sort etc etc
what i am asking if someone has a list of things to do for a conversion and things that i need to buy over the weekend so i can get it all done over the next week as it is my daily driver and my run around

if i do, do this there will be a 5 speed 1.2 k10 gearbox for sale which i got from ed a few months ago and is bang on!

many thanks and hopefully youll all be able to help:(:(

If its not scrubbing, its not low enough.
If it was running fine before its one of the things you changed, don't panic.
HT leads in correct order?
Any moisture get into the dizzy cap?

Is the distributor timed up correctly?

yeah, the points corrrectly spaced etc, it idles absolutely perfect, no lumps or bumps just purrs

when the car is on the move is when the car starts making weird noises, im pretty sure it could be carb now, as there is a rattle like sound the more throttle/fuel used

Not points, the rotation of the distributor.
