Yeah I had to be so quiet!! Every damn turn if the seized bolts sounded like nails on a chalk board!! I used half a can of wd40 just to shut em up! No thanks to my hydraulic jack which refuses to pump past half way and my scissor version ran away to the bin! Difficult to say the least! I didn't even get the car to stock ride height level to work on as jacks flumped :(

Whilst lowering the car I forgot my light was just under the seal, without further thought I let the jack down a bit too quick and the lamp kind went straight into my rust hole on the seal!! What was the size of a fag box is now about the size of my sunvisor!! So will be ordering some oversills both sides and blending them in aswell- not happy :(

So wish I had just bought a clean White 3 door!!

Just went out for a test drive up and down the road, my front wings aren't bolted on underneath and my heat shield is rattling it's head off but all seems ok

I took a video but I only really give it some half way through :) apologise for the really bad quality and lack of light etc but damn us this car fun!!

Holding the camera and trying to turn without power steering is quite hard though

Enjoy sort of...

I start my welding course next Tuesday and I still can't think of anything to make :(. If you can get down to Skelmersdale next week, I'm sure we could manage the replacement sills between us Marty .

Been toting with the idea for ages bit seeing as cars getting full makeover it would be rude to not stick a rocket up it's backside :) fiesta rs garret hybrid t2 , still collecting bits but should be on the car and connected with oil lines and intercooler within few weeks :)

Bring on the power :)

Yeah why not, so simple to do with the right bits mate, not going for a complete monster just something for more oomph,

This won't be a quick thing but I guess you've all gathered that by state if the car at the mo,severe lack of time to do anything!

Com'on Marty its pay day what other goodies you brought??

no diesel turbos here.... rang turbo technics today to confirmed the id plaque and it is a fiesta rs turbo t2, no shaft play whatsoever so all should be good

hopefully got round the fuelling issue with a modded sr20det fuel rail and pump

tomei fpr im bidding on

so left to do is

1.3 gearbox,shafts,gear linkages
1.4 or 1.6 calipers and discs
suitable clutch
and a nistune from ed at fusion

:)

if i could get a clutch to fit in the 1.0 box id love to keep it, with the lightened flywheel it totally transforms the car

spoke to helix and they wont manufacture 160mm clutch, shame really

can i bolt the 1.3 clutch to the 1.0 flywheel if any knows?

ta :p

The 1.4 and 1.6 calipers are the same, just the hubs are different (and so the discs and pads). The 1.6 have all the same pads/discs, only 1.4 had a "upgrade" on 1998, from 232 to 247mm (same as 1.6). I have a friend that fitted the N15 calipers with N15 1.6 pads and N14 240mm discs...

Part numbers doesnt matters, they are the same, 22V stamped on the calipers. Just like the throttle bodys, they are all the same, but different part numbers...

And the hubs arent different. All N15 petrol hubs are the same

You need to have different hubs because of different disc diameters, and i've seen some early N15 1.4 hubs being different from the latest ones (post '98). 1.6 are all the same.

The turbo looks really interesting... Whats involved in fitting one of those? My car is currently totally standard and needs a "rocket up its arse"...

The disc diameter will only cause problems if the bit of metal that sticks out hasn't been grinded off. We did an SR20 conversion on a 1.4 almera and uprated the brakes to N15 GTI brakes and all that needed done was grinding the metal part on the hub off so the disc would clear. My brother also had a 1.6 almera converted to SR20 and the same again, only the mettal bit grinded off. All N15 petrol hubs are the same....

Sorry for the spam marty :grinning:

No worries about the spamming, it's not spamming mate it's info...

Info's good, it feeds the brain

May have sorted the ones of scopez as his are no longer required

There 1.6 ones :)

As for the turbo it depends on the parts you get and how much you can mod to fit by doing the work yourself, then the mapping, that's were I think it gets more serious

I wouldnt bother self mapping, get some who knows how to do it and make your car safe and reliable

Ed / fusion motorsports on here comes highly recommended from people who have used him

Good luck

Looks tight thou mate :)

Could the turbo be put with the turbo on the left and down pipe on right as per original but Put the flange at more of an angle to clear alternator? I can move the radiator out no worries, just think it may be difficult to get the down pipe onto the flange?

Like photo???

there,s plenty of clearance from the alternator mate, and the downpipe lines up ok (needs a sharper bend tho eh)
