ive successfully got some 17 inch alloys onto my micra, with a veryyyy small rub on the arch.

only problem is, even with one person in the car the back arch decides to scrape, anyone know how to get around this?

thankyou :)

When I had this issue I got some spring assistors designed for towing, they stop the suspension dropping a certain ammount

that's the beast right there, a little skint to afford the new tyres and spigot rings, but nice to see they do actually fit :)

spring assistors, are they like gap fillers on the actual coil of the spring?

yeah i did take them off, the mudflaps don't make much of a difference, the tyre is about 1cm away from the top of the arch which is a bit useless especially as my family like taking the car out and 5 people would kill off the arches,
i think i might downgrade, as i heard fuel consumption will go up and we cant be having that :)
how much will the speedo be out so i can keep it in the back of my mind :)
im going to try ollies suggestion after i get the new tires and spigot rings and pray for the best.

the car does look a bit silly, as its gone quite high, but i was thinking side skirts, heard the Del sol ones fit, (don't know if i should start a new topic here?) but has anyone tried fitting a nova/clio/renault r5 dimma body kit to a Micra and have they had any success?
thanks

This website will help you work out how your speedo reading will be affected by the change in wheel/tyre size, just enter the specs of your old wheels and new and it will show you the difference and calculate the %difference speedo reading and the actual reading at 30 nd 60 mph.

Thanks for the feedback, but i don't actually drive with them on there yet :)
only up and down my road but they scraped too much, until i can find the funds to stiffen the suspension they are staying off and my lovely steelies are going back on :)
how rare are micra 12 inch steelies?
i have a set in my garden and i might be painting them like chequered racing flag after some inspiration off someones wing mirrors on this site :)
any views on that?
thanksss

THIS IS MY BOOMSTICK!
You lucky GIt, lol. I had very similar 17" but they only had 1 PCD which didn't fit my micra, lol.

You can go down the caravan assisted route by popping down to Halfords and getting some rubber blocks which will go in-between the springs. They're are mainly for the rear, but I'm sure you can put them all round and make it look like a 4x4, lol.

lol? ive got 15s on mine and my tires rub on the arches when you hit a bend surprised u aint gone thu a few sets of rubbers already :p only on the back tho other than that (y)

You could have the arches rolled. This will give you more clearance but you need to make sure that when youu wash the car you get all the dirt out as it tends to stay in the rolled area and cause rust.

The tool is not that expensive and if you get together a couple of people on a group buy for it, it will cost you even less.
