Good video!

Whats that smoke when you brake harshly? not from the tires.. the exhaust.

Hi John G, The smoke was from the exhaust valves from it getting too hot as it was getting up too 8500rpm so it started to smoke!

We have a new engine going in this week, a CGA 1348cc lump, so hope to have that up and running soon and out in October.

How he manage to do the distributorless ignition control? Using just the Omex? I tough that a crank angle sensor would be needed... Or its a 2nd Generation CG10DE?

i think with the video's you were posting up pete that you would have been a lot faster with you dropping down a cog in the tighter bends. as the engine seems to bog quite a bit...

ps..

you broke my baby..lol

Hi Ant, yes sorry about that, I did kind of break it good and proper, the HT leads had melted to the head it got that hot!

As for dropping down a cog, first wasnt working that well and it kept jumping out, and also the set up wasnt perfect and it bog'd down in nearly all the change downs, found out it was due to the butterflys sticking open and what also didnt help was the throttle cable bracket also felxed to the point of it breaking on one of the stages, so a stronger one was quickly bodged to work and that worked better as it didnt flex!

Bagas, Chris's does have a distributor ignition control, its just been moved and a re-mount for the crank angle sensor. If you look close at the photo of the engine bay you can see the dizzy to the left and the crank sensor and cable is at the very bottom left of the photo by the engine mount.

Here are some photos of the CGA3, 1348cc engine that we have just finished building up with a CG13 head on it .

Its a standard CGA3 for the time being, but I will be running a paddle clutch and one of our flywheels. Also it has one of Ants rocker covers on!!

Plans are if it runs ok, to get the cams done and then a max'd ported and flowed head on that I am working on.

Everyone deserves a nice looking engine if they keep throwing them in and out (Y)

Wash the block over with petrol, reason being is that it drys quick and removes most of the crap, then use a cloth to wip it down. Then cover over ports, pulleys etc and spray with Engine Enamel Aluminium Aerosol Spray Paint.

As you can see the results are really good, and top it off with one of Ants rocker covers and they really look the dogs....

hope that helps mate.

right.. its been a while, over a month now! done a few things, co-drove on the Peter Lloyd Stages 4th Oct for Alex, (Mucred on here) and this is picture of us in action, good result of 3rd in class and fastest stage time on the last stage of the day.

below is a photo of the CGA engine now with the new inlet manfold and refurb bike carbs on it, we found that it was sticking hence the lack in power at low revs.
So this is a 1348cc engine, and the last one was a 1275cc so hoping to get a bit more power out of this one.

Right its been a while and Im not sure where the time has gone, Im doing a rally at the end of the month navigating again at Blyton.
As far as my cars go, im busy sorting my garage out and clearing some space!
I have take the dash out the spare car and cut it down ready to be flocked and go in the red car.
I have a set of pods like the photo below for my LHD blue micra, I plan to have them fitted on it soon, and I have some spare pods as well if anyone is interested? Just the bumper ones as per the photo below with no lights.

hi, how did u get the dash covered in that material and how much did it cost?
+ i think they are two awesome micras!

This was done by NME, as its a works car, but if you take a look at hoodedreeper blog he has someone who can do it! (Y)

I've only gone and purchased another MICRA!!!!!!!! (photos to follow)

Yesterday with Alex went well, 4th in class, a very, very wet day, but great fun, i'll post some photos later.

The new white f1000 looks good!
Does you still stock the SD cage? My friend is considering building a car and is working out a budget. How much are they + postage to N.Wales?

Hi Mattjo, yes we still have the SD cages, they are £640.00 all in delivered (depending in N Wales location?)

That F1000 will be a hire car, as will be the second white one that I picked up last week!

I did the Hall Trophy Rally at Blyton on Sunday here a few photos, out of the 12 stages we managed to set on fastest stage, and finished a good 4th! Alex is only 15!!!!!! He has done fantastic this year and should finish 3rd in the championship.

Video here too but its on facebook and you need to be a member!

Hi mate thanks for that, the cage price is above, its a full FIA SafetyD cage, but for road rallying you could get away with a half cage i think? im trying to get some half cages keep an eye on my blog, cheers(Y)

Well now that the blue car has gone, sold on Friday and will used in the F1000 rally championship this give me the space at mine to get on with the next car!

So I have purcahsed an unfinished rally car project and the shell is rotten, as you can see from the photos, it got few good bits so what I plan is taking the good bits and put them in a good shell.

And I have a very good shell, so last night I set about the good shell with my air gun and got the inside stripped as you can see below.

It going to be a road rally car / enduro car.

looking good peter (Y)
you,ll have to start a new blog for this specific build eh :)

Cheers Frank, its a good solid shell so should be a good car. Do you think I should start a new blog?

I was surprised how easy it was to strip the inside with the air gun, it took minutes to get everything unbolted, just zip zip and done!

Im going to run fuel and brake lines in the car. Do you know of any tips of lightening the shell?

Looking good. My shell is lightened so if you want any pics of the bonnet, boot etc etc just give us a shout. Are you allowed to lighten on RR/Enduro?

Matt Jackson has got the blue car now.

No probs i will get some over to you asap. Could you pm your email address again.
The bonnet, boot, and the doors are done. Im sure Matt will go well in the blue one :)

Well its been a while since I posted on here, so here is a quick update.
The blue micra will be out on its first event with Matt driving at Roskirk on Sunday.

For me my stage car is at the back of the garage whilst I get on with building the road rally car.

As you can see from the photos above I'd stripped the car and now the work is replacing old bits with new, thank you Matt H for this bits this week, and I have been purchasing a fair bit of stuff ready to finish it off, here is a list of bits I need to get fitted;

OMP 10point cage, thank you Kristian for this,
a pair of Pro2000 sparco seats,
Driver and navi foot rests,
Bilstien coilover front and rear,
Fuel and brake lines inside the car,
flocked dash,
and putting the engine and box back in the car!

Apart from that its nearly finished............I'm lucky as I have a doner car to take parts off and im not in hurry to get it finish, as long as its ready before September.

Sunday for me is an autotest again, so more photos next week of Chris and I. will be out in the micra rally hire car, its nearly ready to go so if anyone wants to hire it let me know.

Hi Mate, thanks for that, its always changing to keep people interested I hope,
My coilovers are from Matt Humpries (MPH on here) I have got some from Japan before, but I wasnt impressed with them, I'd say to anyone its worth saving and getting Bilstiens, I've ran AVO's and Spax before and I'd never use them again compared to the Bilstiens, Bilstiens and Eibach springs, thats what Nissan Motorsport Europe ran and I wouldnt argue with that.
I'll keep you in mind if I here of any bits that come up for sale, have you seen ebay recently, a few rally bits for sale for micras on at the minute.
