I agree with alot of what your saying man but the Fmic will control intake temps with the increased boost, mine has been dynoed by 2 different places, on a dyno dynamics it made 151.8hp(flywheel) and another well known and respected tuner in Ireland , westward engineering it made 144hp(flywheel) . considering there's a bit more mods on mine I reckon Steve's is between 125-140hp
well only going off dyno run at local dyno to me .. showed 158bhp at the flywheel running 1.3 bar not gonna argue the fact. not really bothered it just a number but it was the number on the print out.

what material should the custom gasket be made from a 100% copper sheet? i was also looking at graphite gaskets or is this going the wrong way?

cheers

Mate I really hope you don't think my rant earlier was intended as an accusation. I know all too well what a great job you did of getting this car running better than you got it. However, my point of running it at 158bhp was still valid and I never realised until the other day that it was running that and really thought it was something steve needed to know (just in case he thought that was a normal power figure for these cars). In light of what you just said though I would not be running it at 1.3 bar anymore. Don't take me personally, I was just looking out for the car :p

The stock ones are graphite, so I imagine you could get a custom job made that would be of equal standard as the stock one. I would recomend this for your imediate needs as it will be easier and cheaper to fit and seal than a metal job.

ah right ok, thats better as a graphite gasket maker is easier for me to get hold of, if it works well will anyone else want one, just for spares? would save me just making a gasket as a one off job.

also i have turned the boost right down now, still fast though and the ST still runs ok but just lumpy on idle and picks up a lot slower, i replaced all the HT leads and still missing some on idle but when revved its fine? the reason now why i think its the head gasket is

* All the ikky stuff in the coolant
* Lumpy idle
* loosing a little water
* creamy coloured oil on the top on the underneath of the rocker when i took it off

Im not looking forward to taking the head off at all as i cannot get to the ECCS bolts to take it off and i realy dont want to undo too much of the pipe work

I'm not arguing either man:p, I did'nt know it was 1.3bar abit much for that turbo (so Ed said to me when I was over) Mine made 126hp (flywheel) @1.2 bar with a ht10 ,fmic, full s/s exhaust ,how does 0.1bar make an extra 32hp john? Remap with the bigger turbo running 1.2bar also on mine(alot of the power found was due to the map)and it made 151hp so we're gona have to agree to disagree man,no hard feelings I hope.

Although you had some nice exhaust work done on it could have freed up some ponies. (Y)
Right enough of the off topic stuff. .. Steve you have people to help, get on to Ed get him to give you a few tips and you seem to have the gasket situation sorted ,best of luck mate

ok cheers everyone will let you knwo how i get on next week, one last thiing is the oil filter the same as the K10?

cheers

not sure if it is any use to you guys, but I have access to jp nissan fast which:
gives you part # for a given vin #
tells you which models use a given part#.

For example based on my vin I can confirm the tie rod end part # is 48520-17B25, and that it is only used by K10s. Also, for what it is worth it will confirm month and year of manufacture, original exterior and interior colour, auto or manual, and that it left the factory as na or ST

So if anyone needs to confirm a part# or availability, post or pm me your vin and the part and i can check it out.

Just note that parts might still be interchangeable, this just confirms if nissan used the exact same part elsewhere

Ok, next question, related to the thread title.

What parts from the K11 fit on the ST

e.g.

Suspension, front and back, coilovers?

Brakes? Disks, Calipers etc etc et

just figuring out what fits, what with modification and what does not.

**UPDATE ON ST**

My friend has checked the compression on each cylinder and its holding so he does not think it is the head gasket, he can only put the misfiring cylinders down to a fueling problem? anyone any ideas please cos im completely stuck!!
