Remapping my CG13 K11 (nats) ECU, yes or no

It's been a while I placed any messages here on the forum, sorry guys! The reason is my girlfriend has had some serious health problems... Also the CG13DE engine I had made is dead:grinning:

I placed CG10 pistons inside, did some headwork and placed the 773 cams inside. All running but never good. At some point the engine started to detonate. After looking why (ignition timing, etc etc..) it still got worse!

Before the engine would die I bought another standard CG13 (150 euro, with 60.000 kilometers).
I placed the 773 cams in the head, replaced the chain (because I had a new one), replaced the crankshaft pully with a CG10 one (this is MUCH less in weight!), placed a CG10 flywheel and a realy nice clutch, took an GA16DS airbox and placed it on the TB, placed a Janspeed manifold and put a bit bigger exhaustpipes under the car. Later on I put some Denso Iridium plugs and a new set of cables/distriburor/rotor on the ignition. Because the powerband starts to feel strong at 5000 and up, I removed the rev-limiter inside the ignition so now I can rev up to 7500 rpm's! This is realy great, but hard for me to resist :p Now I realy like to go to the 7500 rpm every time I drive off.

Well I must be honest and tell you this engine runs BETTER than the one I had build before! Ans this with the 9,6:1 compression!

The thing I can not do myself is a remap of the ECU. I know Ed from Fusion makes these remaps, but I can not come to him so he can look what to do. Also I have got NATS on my car, and I don't know if that's a problem.

The truth is I would like to know if it will be worth all the money. What will I gain with this remap?

mine had a high up powerband like yours chris with similar spec, then when i fitted the 1.0 pistons it lowered the powerband by 2k (and made the car quicker)
how about modded micra,s safc piggyback ?

I already have a E-manage blue inside the car, but it's hard to adjust this right! And as the a/f meter tells me the engine runs almost the whole time (full throttle) between 13 and 14, I realy think this is needs no adjustment.
Soon I want to make a powerrun to see if the curves are as they should be.

I thought a remap would have more adjustment points than the e-manage blue I have.

I have not used the screws, did all adjustments with the laptop. Only thing I did do with the 3 screws on the front was the basic idle settings. I also have the software needed to make idle run ok.

Only stupid thing is I had to cut the ignitionwire and placed the e-manage in between, but what adjustments I make, the eningine never runs! Now I put those two wires together and there the engine goes!

i've got a 1.3 nats too and went down to Eds to try get it mapped. he installed the nistune board on my ecu but we were having real difficulty getting it to run, probably due to nats.

i'm going back down this weekend to fit a non-nats ecu which seems to be the only way at the moment.

I have a NATS ECU with NIStune Type4 board and it works real fine, hard to believe that yours doesnt work...

Nats is realy a good protection! Haha

Not as good as we think. Im using other NATS ECU on my car, from a scraped '99 Micra, and installed NIStune board on that ECU.
Had to do a NATS recode because the "new" couldnt run the engine, i used Consult Cable and a PC program to recode it.
To people that say that NATS cant be recoded outside Nissan, thats a lie, it can be done... I did it...

my ecu's from a 98 slx. would that work similar to your 99 ecu or did the facelift ecu's change?
so you had to recode the nats before it could run. i'll call Ed to see if he could do that.

Nats is nats....so it should not matter I think.

-Bagas, you meen that it's possible that the Nats function is the reason the e-manage can not work with the K11 ignition? In Holland people tell me: Go Nistune standalone, but I'm not convinced I will have much more positive result on my light-tuned CG13 engine.

If I want REAL power inside my K11, I will put a SR20DE engine inside. It can be done! And will cost less than a nistune (nistune install AND setting it on a powerbank)

Facelifts ECU's are all the same, you can even use 1.0 on a 1.3 and vice-versa... But you always have to recode NATS to use a new ECU.

NIStune board only costs 260€ posted to Europe. A standalone ECU will cost the triple of it.
Dont know if NATS messes up with E-Manage, but i dont think so, E-Manage just intercepts the ECU signals...
