I highly doubt this is gonna get a helpful answer...if only because there isnt many auto micras on here. But just incase, does anyone know where i can source replacement carbon brushes from that would be suitable for the K11 auto box.

Dont mention Nissan :D ...already tried and after picking myself up from the floor, i quickly left  for the curious i was quoted £111.53 + VAT which is ermm expensive.

Will probs eventually find something suitable, that matches but hoping i can shorten the chase :) ...will also be going to scrappies tomorrow just to try my luck.

Cheers.

lol well first i would say scrappy, nissan should always be a last resort really lol

maybe ebay if you are lucky? but really i would rip the auto box out and drop it in the deepest part of the sea, then convert the car to manual :D

lol, yeah well i figured id give nissan a shot and see the worst case...searched ebay and nothing comes up (with good reason i suppose)...ive also thought about the manual conversion, but its the hassle etc plus the cars been serviced all the time so if this part can be found the car should be 100% sorted :) its also not my car, just helping fix it.

...even two suitable carbon brushes would do, as a bit of soldering isnt a hard job, so doesnt need to be a proper nissan part, just something with the same carbon brush.

The some what annoying thing is a few months back there was an auto in the scrappies...but its now been crushed grr

there may still be an auto in my local, will have to check on the weekend, but really the number of problems i have heard about autos compared to the manuals, auto doesn't seem worth it really

My left leg keeps twitching when i drive it  but its quite good...power steering aswell lol. Though ive never felt so much like i wasnt doing anything while driving.

tbh from looking at it theres not alot to them...after looking at the NCVT controller setup on the accelerator pedal, it would work dead easily for running a sc based on thottle position.

Have you tried a local motor factor?

Also how about

Keldine Autos Gearbox Repair Specialist

Wellington Rd, Dunston, Gateshead, Tyne and Wear NE11 9JJ
Tel: 0191 4606024

and

Gearbox Autoparts
63 Station Road
Forest Hall
Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, NE12 8AQ
0191 266 9846

Think there's a gearbox and drive shaft place on Team Valley also who might be worth a try.

Kris, the scrappy near Scotswood Road, just as you go down Lemington..

The big one, they had loads of auto Micras.. and 2 Auto Marchs in.

There's pre-facelift and facelift Automatics (N-CVT). Didn't look in much as not interestedi n them but maybe it's for you?

Ah ok cheers guys,...tried a few different places today and quite a few scrappies but no joy (one auto but the engine/gearbox had been pinched and funnily enough didnt go into the scrappy you've mentioned dewgel), eventually popped into an auto electrics place and while he didnt have a proper unit...he scavanged through his parts and found some near enough.

Soldered the replacement brushes on and so far (fingers crossed) its driving ok, still getting the occasional warning flash but could just be while the brushes are bedding in as there arent any fault codes any more. :D

So for a few hours work and £3 on parts the cars back on the road, will wait to see how long its stays like that lol :D
