Yeah, over Christmas my Mum decided to use my car. When she returned home, she locked it, and managed to snap the key in the process. So now I have half of my key stuck in the drivers door lock. Will I be able to get this out, or am I gona need a new lock?? Help!

Best bet is to remove the lock from the car, chances are there will be a way to remove it when its in your hand.

try putting superglue on the key and put it in the barrel and hold the key only just up against the broken bit do not push the broken bit at all, make sure you hold it for a longer than normall time to make sure the glue has set, then try pulling the key out and the broken bit should be on it

Bit dodgy lol, will prob end up with the barrel totally glued together with two bits o key and a hand!!!

Right, get some super glue, bit hammer and small plyires (Sp?), then proceed to sort out.....

Ohhh.., the lock you wanted sorted?!

U know what superglue's like, u don't need to squeeze the tube, it just comes out anyway and doesn't stop lol!!!

You can get brush on super glue, makes the whole process quite easy and no mess. Weird the brush brissles dont stick together though! Anyway, use that if your worried it'l go everywhere.

i've actually done this twice before for my gf and for my bro in law... Ejets...

firstlty i used two long sewing needles... top and bottom and wiggeled the snapped bit out... easy yes...

bear in mind this was just a third of the length, not to much snapped off...

BUT for my gf's on she had snapped like half the key so i had to take the barrel out... jiggled it and tapped the bit out... more fiddly if this is the case...

getting the barrel out aint that bad... its all the stuff you have to take offf to get to the barrell thats a ball ache...

maybe be worth driving round to locksmiths as they know best...

good luck :)

Super glue is pretty pants for many things. Try no more nails!

No more nails is great stuff. I put some cornicing up in my bedroom in my parents house a while back (when I still lived there). Now that I have moved out my parents have TRIED to take some of it down...

im sure all this arguing about superglue helped the guy get his key out...

what happened to staying on topic?

It is topic related

Brush super glue is more precise than the other types, and no more nails is an alternative to super glue.

The lock smiths is probably the best suggestion above though!

Sweet, do you know where I could get some 'no more nails'? I might put some cornicing up above my windows in the micra, make it look a bit more homely :p lol...

Yea, so about the whole key thing...about half of it is inside the barrel, so I say it would be a fidgety ####er allrite...
