SU carbed k10

well lads,

it wont see the road for a good while though so im happy to have my k10 as my first car-hobby. lowered, alloys, tinted windows and few bits, and i will do a small bit more with the engine, (mods) but got to do timing belt first , if you have any ideas id be glad of help, and if you scroll through wondering why your wasting your time i apologise

i hope these pictures work,
so its a 1.0l , and the shell okay, very little rust,

for some reason my interior was brown, oviously not what came in it day 1 since its a red shell.
so i stripped inside, you can see black pannels here because i had already taken some out to test them with black paint and seee how it worked

dash , i guess i was pretty happy with how the dash took matte black paint, its still wet in this picture,

drove her into the shed to start work,

picked up a back box, i like 5 inch , im gonna regret that but thats how it goes

and in the meantime i have the dash put back in, and im waiting on a lot of parts in the post, hardest part is
waiting ha.

Thanks pork, im gonna do the best i can with the money i have, im only 17 (irish) cant figure how i love k10's so much, what a car to start with though well thats what happens when your given it, saved this one from the scrapyard to be honnest, ha

They are good fun, and a cheap way to learn new things with!

Well done for saving it! Most the mods have to be custom made/ home made. I would start with suspension myself, lowering and better dampers. Fitting front anti roll bar from K11 micra can help alot. Lightened flywheel, exhaust mani and bike carbs will some engine gains for not too much.

Most importan have fun with it!

Picked up a neat little set of rims with very good tyres for a good price , i needed tyres badly so turned out cheaper to buy these , only 12's but hey they"ll do ha

got very little done this weekend ........... yet again!
after spending a while looking for headlight screws i truely did feel like a proper dumb ass when i thought how simple it was to make them,

finished off the lights and put them in

only got time to put the front springs in

small rims make it look like it isnt lowered though,
was thinking of spraying the alloys black?
a friend suggested black with red along the outer rim?
anyone any idea's? dont think they match in the way they are

Whenever i get the courage to go cut a slot out of the bumper hahaha it sticks out too much unless i cut a slot for it , but iv been putting it off just untill i make my mind up about other stuff , im thinking of making a bracket and having my jap square number plate slightly offcentre towards the passenger side in that case ill cut the slot on the drivers side , but just havnt decided yet , i think itll look well on the car , at least i hope , ha as for the alloys i think im gonna try them black, if not they can always be sprayed back again ,

Fair enough mate. Was looking into getting myself a tow hook like that but not sure where it will go, was thinking along the same idea as yours. Was also thinking maybe 2 at the front like stock, would be different, but not sure. I don't have one yet to play around with the idea yet. Well let me know when you do it and good luck with the alloys.

cut out a piece there now and it goes in quite nice doesnt stick out too far i think

also put the back springs in but still quite high up,

hmm, dont think so, the tow hook on the back is horizontal not vertical if my memory serves me right so id have to either have to have it lying horizontal or make something up, i think one's enough for now anyways considering iv got nice bit more work to do , ha

Yeah its horizontal, was thinking of doing it to mine when i get the time, was going to cut the old one off and weld one the new one on the rear, so its sitting vertical or make a bracket, see how it goes when i get around to it.

Whatever ya do get you hands on a mig and dont be afraid to give it a good weld incase you actualy do need the tow-hook! Ha make it good and strong !

Just a simple ideA, if you cut off the tow hook thats there and get heavy angle iron, drill holes in it big enough for bolts, and weld it on, thats prob simple enough way of having it vertical,

You just use one of those rubber discs on your drill. Makes it really easy. Plenty of threads on this site regarding this.

im highly considering, got high temp paint and sprayed the rocker cover but the colour on the can didnt reflect the finish ! it looked a decent red

Looks pretty cool. The rocker cover looks more orange than red but it's different. Makes it stand out. Got a pic of the whole wheel?

The rocker cover is " redder " than i thought , and the grille well i only cut it and had a piece sitting in the middle of it , 3 pieces still need glueing and filling and then a spray, thinking of trying the grille in matte black
