It's going to be a Micra time attack challenge weekend ! :p

Car's at home, in the garage instead of the Corolla :D

It's insane, the car is like new ! I always thought and was convinced that we were the most meticulous family in the world, but I think the previous owner beaten us. But it's ok !

Well, I'm back from a 3 weeks trip in Corsica. I've done more than 3500KM, the car runned beau-ti-fuly we were always at least two or more people inside the car, boot was always packed with stuff. Very hot weather, climbing roads, however the car never let us down. Here is my report:

Map of the travel:
trip2011.jpg

During the trip, from Paris to Toulon, I watched carefuly the fuel consumption since I just bought the car and never really drove it,in the end it has been far better than my 1.0, about 5.5L for 100KM (average speed was about 110KM/H, mostly on the highway):

On the way to Toulon, I came to see my old friend _n3o_ :
http://tinyurl.com/5wdqjbt
We quickly set up the first French Micra Meeting, with... our 2 cars :p :

Then we headed to Toulon, ferry time ! Cool experience, like a big mall car park on a boat. The guys in yellow ( "the Marios" because its an italian company :p ) asked me to park the car very tightly, there was barely enough room to open the car and get out of it, I prayed that the guys ahead and behind didn't forget to put their handbrake on!

After a very bad night "sleeping" on the floor because there were any free room left inside the boat, the ferry arrived at Ajaccio, Corsica, in the morning. We get out the ferry and said goodbye to the Marios :

Before reaching home, I still had to go to the admin prefecture to register the new car and get the new plates, because Ajaccio is the main city of Corsica.
My cousin and the new plates (50euros... what a STEAL):

Thanks god it was very quick, and 10min later we hit the road again toward our house, 200KM of awesome driving in the beautiful mountains:

Then near the house, driving near Bonifacio:

Few random pictures of the car I took with my cellphone:

Micra and the sea

Ghetto shopping, forget the bags in Paris? Bad idea.

Random whoring at the fuel station (taken with a reflex)

Before it became too dirt !

Time to pack the boot again, vacations are now over:

On the way back in Ajaccio, waiting to enter the ferry, a bit SALTY:

Back at home, I gave it a well deserved good wash! :

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Yet another great Micra experience passed successfuly ! (Y)

Awesome Seb (Y). You'll have to send me a full-size pic of it for my gallery :grinning:.

Yesterday I've modded my cheap phone windscreen holder that I bought on Ebay for Google Maps/GPS. There wasn't a hole where the camera lens, and I wanted to record video with my phone on the windscreen. So I cutted the right bottom corner of the plastic:

Tested it yesterday evening on the highway:

Not too bad! ( tho the video on YT has been reencoded, because 1080P file was too big to upload... from 300mb to 30mb)

i am insanely jealous, please take good care of that car it is something very special

Looks like a spot on place for recording vids, no vibro etc. I'm guessing it was you singing a few words during the vid (25secs or so). :)

So you sold the 1.0 and bought a 1.3, right?

the car is very nice, never seen your rims before; it's a real super-s?

anyway, next steps? maybe lowering?

Thats it. I wanted to keep it but couldnt. Sometimes I feel a bit nostalgic about the 1.0...

Those alloys are original Nissan 13" but for the Almera N14, the first buyer paid an extra cost to have them, as its written on the bill of the car.

Yes this is a real Super S / #G , call here in France "Stars Cup". I want to keep it as stock as possible so no mods planned !

Random Recent Micra facts (true story):

-A very nice japanese woman I've recently met brought from Japan a March K13 toy as a christmas gift:

-I was moved that she thought about me and wanted to offer me a March related gift. It's the first time it happens. Thank you Iku ! :girly::redface::blush:

-The Micra is in the garage for more than 3 weeks, don't know really why, but maybe it's better for the winter., hibernation time like bears? So I've been driving the father' '04 Toyota Corolla a lot recently. 110HP (Turbo diesel), but 0,00% fun to drive. Sounds and feels like a truck.Polluting, slow, fragile, noisy./ I will never buy a diesel car.

-My car is featured in the 2012 club calendar:

I've built a model kit K11 those last 2 days, it was my first model kit. Not 100% pleased with the final result. Will do better next time. Few pictures:

-Thinking more and more about buying a 3rd cheap K11, a 1.3 with no options, poor body condition and do some Franken mods on it, and using it careless everyday. The Stars Cup is so mint I want to keep it in this condition.

-I wish you all an excellent year 2012, full of success, health, car safety and tons of Micra madness !

Which one Mr J. ? You want pictures of the March Hyper Rev book with the carbed K11s ?

Sometimes when you're too straight and plan everything, things don't follow your tight plan.

-Frank panhard bushes have been stolen and never reached my letter box, the short shifter was also stolen, I only received... an empty cardbox... :

I made a -useless- post complain and bought a second one...

C'est la vie.
