Quick Headlight Question

The lense on all the K11 micras Pre facelift are not clear. Now what i want to know is if i take the lens off and get some perspex made into the shape of the lens will this still work or will the angle be totally different because do the original lenses bend the light down or something??

i've just been converting my crystal lenses to work in the uk and on the crystal ones the beam pattern is generated by the reflector where as on the standard ones the beam patteren is generated by the glass....

but i don't know if perspex will work because it could melt...
