Micra Start Problem

My micra has a electric master switch (cut off). I turned that on and turned the key to start then everything died all electrics went off everything. Then i turned the key back (off) and all the electrics came back on, then turned the key again and everything died again. Any one ever had this problem?

Then i switched the master switch off and on turned the key and fired straight away.

Any one know?
