K11 Fuel pump relay

Hi ,
Can anyone help a newbie , please
I have 1994 Micra K11 , that few days after it’s routine service , developed a problem with the fuel pump relay not being activated, If the relay is bypassed [shorted out] , the engine runs, sometime a bit lumpy, it was suggested that the throttle housing may be faulty this has now been changed , I have checked many earths and connection and closely inspected the ECU , which I am told never fail ?? I am running out of idea’s , only one thing remains unanswered, could the loom have been disturbed near the oil filter ?? , does anyone have experience of doggy wiring loom connections ??
Any help or guidance would much appreciated

Yes there is a 12v feed to the relay , by shorting the relay contacts the pump runs and the car will start

if there,s a feed from the ecu to the relay, but it does,nt throw, then is it an earth problem ?

The relay is pulled to ground not to live by the ecu.

No NATS on the car, it's a N reg.
will be carefully checking the wiring later today

It might have NATS 1 at that year, do you have a fob like this ?

Hi all
Have checked wiring , checked all the earths at the ECU , checked the wire from the relay to the ECU [ it changes colour on route ] all OK
am now 70% sure it's the ECU ,will send it away for checking
THANK YOU for all your inputs so far , I will report back the final answer

UPDATE...

Fitted recon ECU , Relay now energizes at key switch on and engine fires

ECU is/was duff [ no earth return for the relay]

ECU from Auto Tek in Poole , Very helpfull and quick , HIGHLY RECCOMENDED

Do I need to reset the ECU to match the throttle body ???

i think you can only reset any fault codes in the memory
is it lumpy tickover or lumpy at revs ?
