K11 A pillar tweeters...

Hi,

Just replacing the stock speakers with some alpine components. The doors were a swift enough job - but the tweeters... The alpine ones are bigger then the stock ones so I have attacked the plastic mounting bracket with a hacksaw and a stanley knife... There is almost bugger all left and I still cant figure out how to bodge it together... I want to keep the tweeters in the original position, and the mounting kit with the alpines is simply too big to fit under the pillar - its for surface mounting. Anyone done this or got any suggestions..?

I put mine on the plastic wing mirror cover bits. Works ok

as above man, get entry spec a pillar trims, i.e ones that don't have tweeters, and just re-wire them to the wing mirror covers if you have blank ones.

as they will face you more than they would on the pillars i would think that they'd be more beneficial sitting on the wing mirror blanks

Thanks folks, but I was stubborn about keeping original a pillar position. A couple of evenings with a hacksaw, file and superglue did the trick! Sounding good
