my insurance company re-newed my insurance for a car that i had a letter of disctruction for....3 months earlier.....

exhaust is now fitted £90 for the cat back it would have looked abit silly with just the pipe so a tip was put on it. also had the 3" de-cat box put on at the same time sounds loverly janspeed manifold is sat upstairs waiting for the Aircon to be removed..

but the arches still catch so im raising the fronts 10mm to stop that. also noticed that water is coming in from where the seatbelt bolts were wo need to put the bolts back in, and the rear bearing needs doing ASAP! so its another trip to a garage to ge that sorted!

Richmicratwist came round today as we both baught janspeeds the other week, but we couldnt fit them till we de-aircond the cars.. so weve spent a god 9 hours doing both today so now got a brand new janspeed on mine and richards.. but its pulled my exhuast into contact with a heat shield so i need it adjusting and its very very very very very loud lol have to shout to my passengers righ now says hes deaf in one ear! so i need to get a decible insert for day to day driving.. aswell as get the rear adjusted to stop it hitting..

still needs its wheel bearing doing aswell!!

Ahhh the joys of just having the manifold and then a pipe till the end!! Will never hear a car thats as loud as that i promise haha. Looking good man - how it perform with the manifold on?

not bad it pulls to 115 if i could slipstream someone it would easy go 120 and hit the limit. the K&N is letting it down need a sealed airbox.. some cams when chie decides to send them.. and the re-map and il be happy with its N/A form.

decibel inserts are now a very very very good idea. stafford police are #### hot now, for the next month there doing stop checks on any car they feel like pulling over. jims been done, and now dan on SM :/

put her on the dyno got 95.9BHP and 83lb/ft with just the janspeed cat-back and a crap k&N with no airfeed.

also ran a 17.02secs 1/4 mile not bad for my first never run!

heres the power printout.. nice flat tourque curve too but i carnt help thinking shes still got some more to go the power is still rising at the limiter :S


silver_si:- i did mate it was the wheel that wasnt sitting right and needed grinding out to clear the lip in the drum!! wheel bearings were fine!

Max power at that rpm is pretty spot on for a standard 1.3 block with bolt ons.

no thats with the janspeed i still have door cards cos the pockets are usefull for keeping water/sunglasses in and havent got round to buying some carbon fibre sheet.

Just got my avanti cams fitted im insure of the gains i think its actually abit slower lol it desperatly needs a re-map and the ignition adjusting to make some gains.. cheers to everyone who cameround today was a good time!!

the engine cost me £400 from a guy i know with loom... then i fully re-built it, i did all the work myself i wanted about 170BHP from the inital engine tune.. the project was running close to 6K with all the custom bits that i had to have made ect ect

right iv just had quote from 2 people for 2 different ECU's to be fitted and mapped
the autronic:-
Cost for SM4 £1295+vat, Fitting and mapping would be around £850 to
£1000 +vat depending on how long it takes to fit.
so thats £2295+VAT!!!!!!
the HKS Fcon-pro V :- £2200+VAT!!!!
im sorry but i feel these guys are taking the #### abit i think its cos iv said micra nd they dont realy want to work on one!!!

im now stuck in a rut as i carnt go any furthur without sorting an ECU out i want one that will alow me t use an SR20 maf and TB for the turbo engine.

surely an emanage ultimate would be capable? and at £400 odd quid you are gonna be on a winner compared to those prices. i hate the way we get different treatment just because of the car we choose to mod. bhah, their loss!

speak to ed mate im sure he would be your best mate if you offered him £1500 to supply fit and map an emanage ultimate.

just a thought i was quoted £1600 inc VAT and fitting for a Gem standalone ecu. very handy piece of kit.

i have a couple more avenues to try but i will still proably talk to ed about an ultimate as i want to know what there capabilities are.. mapping isnt an issue i know an ace mapper near me and i can get dyno time dirt cheap.. i want a decent ECU thats all.

iv spent 3 1/2 hours cleaning today shame i havent got a decent camera but you can see it alright lol.. Tcut, Mequires polish and wax, tyres done side skirts were put on yesturday when i serviced her aswell... pint is glass smooth, the inside of the windows just needs doing now aanyway some pics :-
