2005 Nissan micra stereo upgrade ?

Hi I'm new to here as I'm trading in my 02 ka for a 2005 micra urbis on Friday! Just wondering about the stereo as I have been looking online with no success about what to do to add aux support to the standard CD player. I have seen a cd changer port addon which gives aux and iPod support for £80 whilst keeping the steering wheel controls - this seems like a good option.
The other option is if I decide to get an aftermarket stereo. Is this possible ??? as I don't know if the CD player in the micra can be replaced by an aftermarket one (whether single din or double din) Can someone please enlighten me as at this moment in time the cd changer port seems to be the only option that I can tell ?

Many thanks

Ryan

You can change the stereo for an aftermarket one...you will probably need a relevant adapter (iso) cable to hook it up too
...although some may be plug and play it's worth checking, be a bit annoying if you take the radio out and find you need an extra bit of loom :p
....not sure if you can keep the steering controls though...

There's a guide on Guy's own K12 website on how to remove the radio/cd unit..... http://www.micrak12.com/stereo.htm

ETA: http://www.micra.org.uk/threads/help-fitting-new-radio.56787/
don't know if anything in that thread may help?

Perhaps you could get the stereo out of a newer K12 (c) that has the blutooth connect etc ;)

I think I'm gonna get the aux/iPod adapter for the standard CD player. I think I'd prefer the factory look for this car. just trying to think of where to run the wire through. i actually have the digital temperature/time display unit above the cd player...if i had the pop open shelf id have ran the cable into there:( ...maybe best bet is the glovebox?

Also If I decide afterwards I can always get a cheap bluetooth adapter for the aux port :)
