Mine will be 1800W when finished. That consist of HU, set of front components, set of rear components, 2 amps and a 12" sub. :)

2000w of rms or max?
And power isn't everything, I'd rather listen to a nicely set up, quality system tbh.

Agreed. :)
Ive got myself 2 Phoenix gold subs running off a 1100W amp. Believe they're 250W Rms each.
2x90w Rms 6x9's in the rear, and 2x50 or 55w rms 17cm's in the front!
All fitted in custom boxes, baffles or shelves! The sound quality is incredible too!! Gave a few people a demo of it at Pod last year and at other events! Check out my website for further details, link in my signature.

yer you do have to have quality i agree to, but if you have a decent system like a good set up then it should sound nice.

if you know what i mean.

My Last K10 had 1800wrms, but the one before that had 1040, and was a much more efficient and MUCH nicer sounding system... IMO I've never heard another Micra beat it :P lol :) but I would say that... currently I probably have about 80wrms lolol and it will do for now.
Ah sod it i'l put images up - It cost enough and its worth showing off anyway!! :)

i dont know how to calculate the whole system but i had two 1200 watt amps and 2 900 watt subs and some 250 watt componetent. all these figures are max of course.
in this micra im goin for quality over noise although the preivious one did sound very nice
wow the thickness of the sub around the edges! thats some RMS power :) and some deep bass :)
erm ive got the new 2006 Pioneer DEH-P6800MP
http://www.pioneer.co.uk/images/products/caraudio/pioneer/dehp6800mp_medium.jpg with AUX input for PS2
Ive also got a set of 16.5cm Infinity 6500cs Component Speakers
(pics on my site but bandwith exceeded :()
These are powered by a JBL GTO 400w max 2 Channel
http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/images/jb/jbl-gto2000.jpg
Ive also got a Vibe Active CBR12" Sub and amp
http://im.edirectory.co.uk/products/918/i/bcbr12active2.jpg which is very very powerful for a 1500w Max Sub and its only running at 900w Max.
got a few vids of it all in action too with PS2 running. :)
Im gonna try and hopefully with a bit of help from kristian fiberglass over the boot wheel arches to make enclosures for 1 sub either side but its all being kept secret in a way because it might never happen :( but ive got a few plans for the dashboard modification :)
Also going to me making some fiberglassed pods for rear panels so ive got some speakers for back seat people as its too bassy at back! :(

What equipment was it on and at what distance, coz that's fairly loud. Still love this though!

Although it's not the loudest any more, was beat a month or 2 later than that post I believe

You got the money to go loud with quality? ;)
heres a vid from inside the car and outside. Inside was bloody mint hehe as u could feel the bass ripping through the seat. Its like a massage pad on ur seat hehe! gets the girls going anyway :p
outside the car the volume was about 80% up :)
I got 142.6 db from a single 12inch lol that was with 1600wrms however.. And not very efficient really, but still not bad.
This was my old system.. back when I was 20 lol. http://videos.micra.org.uk/ed-donny.wmv
Bass was run of a Kenwood PS400M amp, and the front components which were a set of USD waveguides (top quality!!) were run off a Kenwood 1021 @ 220w rms a side. It was connected to a clarion DSP with fibreoptic connections to the CD player. The dynamic range was stunning, and it would have made a great SQ+ car, but I never entered it for anything... The boxes were part fibreglass/MDF and were sealed with two 15in orion XTR subs (efficient). I built these in a V shape to allow both subs to couple and give a single point source of base which reflected up off the rear boot of the k10 (being curved glass very stiff, and as such directed it into the car as a kind of waveguide with stunnings results. Infact this design worked so well I've never heard another micra beat it. The result was bass from 25-80hz with a very flat response, and from there 6.25 inch mids which only had to work upto 1K where the wide bandwidth of the waveguide horns went from here to 22K :)

I know the owner, and very impressive the car is too. Concrete and all :grinning:
This thread is pretty pointless tbh, as its not about the power. Yes you may claim to have a 1800w subwoofer, and 5000w 6x9's, but usually thats the 'max' power ratings which will never be reached in real life.
Anyway, fyi I'm currently running 600wrms into a 10" ported subwoofer, and 200wrms per side into some 6.5" DLS Reference components. The amp is capable of 1.1kwrms into 1ohm for the subwoofer, which I hope to be benefiting from in the near future when I look at upgrading to the new RE XXX v4 subwoofer.
It's more of a SQL system to be honest. I'm more bothered about the SQ than the loudness, but thankfully it can do both, and go loud with quality. My ears give in before the system does. I know a couple of people from here heard it at JAE, and its improved a massive amount since then, and still going strong :).
Ed, I'm still after some horns for my next system. Trying to find some Image Dynamics units but they arnt easy to source O.o.
Edit: This is all run from one big 5-channel amplifier, with class A/B for the components (bridged) and class D for the subwoofer, so really a hybrid amp.
