Hey,
I have got neons on my K10, what i did was cut the connection half way on the back of the cigerette lighter and using a connector block i re-joined the the +ive for the cigerette lighter and also connected the +ive for my neons.
This will allow it to look less messy, rather than having wire hanging around.
I Hope this made sense

best thing to do with neons is to run them directley of the battery all or most kits u can buy are 12v anyway i had the footwell ones on before wired up to the switch that came with them but i would say l.e.d ones are the best ive had the full ground kit and it all still works whereas a mate of mine had the neon tubes which after about a month stopped workin....same applies to the interior the neon tubes crack after a small impact l.e.d's stand up to far more punishment
they look good when they smash
apart from the dont work
lol lol:)

look at these i bought from motorworld for £20, really meant to go in the footwell but i stuck em in my roof lining :D
mine are wired into the light that lights the cig port so that they come on when you turn the headlights on :)
yeah u can run them of the cigarette lighter or one of those three way adapters but looks the buisness when all the wires and stuff are tucked away the ones from (paddymarsden) i would recommend cos the l.e.d ones are far better than the cheap nonsense u get from ebay and if u get a switch in the pack then u can hook it up to that and have them on when u want

I have been through them all, LEDs are better, but when you buy from the net you can't really check the type of LED, the brightness differs. Neons do tend to stop working, if you have blue ones after a while they will start to go brighter as in white so it looks light blue. They last for 1000hours if im not mistaken, mine were on all the time so my went dead after 2 months.
With regards to the cracking i have never had a problem. I have had around 4 sets on neons in my K10.
In conclusions, LEDs last longer, and COULD be brighter, this all depends on the number of LEDs and the type.
With regards to the wiring, im pretty sure yours is a 12v, turely and honestly wire to where ever and to what ever you want as long as you can see wires danglin about.
WORD OF ADVISE DO NOT PLUG IT STRAIGHT INTO THE CIG. LIGHTER, WIRE TO THE BATTERY, LIGHT, CIG. LIGHTER CONNECTION, this way you can keep the lights hidden.
This felt like a long replay, hope its not toooo boring since i spent time to help you:glare:

Not the best advice, dont wire them to any supply as it could be linked directly into the ECU/emissions/computer/etc system and cause some 'interesting' problems.
The best supply to use in the cigarette/radio one as it's fused in the fuse box.

Not trying to be rude or funny, but i did not think i would have to point that out fwn .
And i dont think the the cig lighter is fused :S, not sure, but anyways, best thing to do, go from the cig lighter, or the battery.
I think that DANMICRA gave up. :grinning:
£2.99 for a set of 12" neons ! ok thre for pc but still 12v dc!

Well, wiring to 'wherever you want, that has wires dangling out' isnt exactly the best advice is it? You should check (either manually) or via the Haynes, what the wiring you are playing with is actually meant for.
And yes the cigarette lighter is fused, in both the K10 and K11 (and K12).
If you do wire it to the battery, then make sure you use an inline fuse. Same with the cig lighter, better to be safe than sorry.
