View Full Version : Max Power Air Filter
Im low on budget, and so I bought the £20 Max Power Air Filter from Argos.
Anyone had any bad experience with this one?
Does it actually make my car any better? If anything, It feels sluggish.. or maybe I was concentrating too hard..... fwn
I was actually gunna buy one of these til I found a cheaper one, they don't really increase power but they do give a nice sound, they certainly won't cause a loss of power.
i doubt there's anything wrong with them. They've probably done a deal with a filter supplier and just branded the product as there own. Alot of companies do this
They are just the cheap metal weave type with no cotton/ oil. they work well enough when fitted correctly. They just have max power stamped on the top.
Cool, thanks guys!
By the way, how do I change my Avatar? :glance:
they make a hell of a noise, nice though.

you can only have an avatar by becoming a paying, full member, it's well worth the cash with discounts and the other extra features you get.
They do loose power i got one, it looks good, it sounds good but it's too big and sucks in the wrong amount of air so the jetting is wrong.

You means runs too weak, can be tuned out quite easily.
I can't see it causing that many problems.

how could tis be tuned out?? Just out of interest...:wasntme:
Turn the mixture screw on a carb system, the AFM on a ECU controlled one will sort it out automatically.
I just bought myself a MAX Power off ebay for £4.99 + £5 P&P and it looks ace, it'll be going on tonight.

the jetting is wrong? it's fuel injected on a Mass Air Flow sensor, so this isn't a problem at all.
However, if it's just sat on top of the throttle body, then it just pulls in the hot air from the over the engine, reducing power.
^ Hence why I returned it. Only just realized.
